Sorry I just... Christian telling Tara "We'll take it slow. We'll figure it out together" is a double meaning to me. First obviously being him telling her to take it slow with dancing in general and in the thank you dance, and they'll all help her and such. But the second meaning to me applies to their relationship. Because that's all they need to do now, take things slow and figure out how to have a healthier relationship, it's the two of them against whatever issues are keeping them from believing a relationship will work. Christian takes Tara's hand in that moment, and his words almost imply that the two of them can take things slow, including their relationship, and they'll figure it out together (this, alongside Christian possibly saying that he'll be there to help her slowly get back to dancing again). The lingering looks and smiles between them confirms this for me, especially since he takes her hand but doesn't lead her to the dance, instead he stays in the same place and smiles at her. It's Kat who ends up pulling Tara into the dance. Maybe I'm overanalyzing this but considering what we see in the movie, I definitely think that line is a nudge to say these two try a relationship again after this but they take it slow.

also I just have to point out how close Tara and Christian are in this episode. They're close friends and they don't have any relationship situation looming over them, but they still love and care about each other in both a platonic and romantic way, so they still gravitate to each other.

Man that final sequence was filmed so well. The anticipation, the knowing something bad is about to happen and having to wait for it, the music along with the storm and the flickering lights. So well made.

Gosh I could analyze the Tara and Christian scenes in this episode to filth, but to keep it short I'll just say it's so sad. Because they're finally at a place individually where they're growing and working on the internal issues that broke them apart before. Now, they need to work together to conquer the additional problems they run into while in a relationship. But they're so scared of hurting each other again, that they fear they won't be able to deal with those issues and create a healthier relationship. They give up too easily, despite how much they love each other, and it's so sad.

Christian saying "You expect me to just be 'that person'" is the key to all of this. Deep down he loves Tara and yearns for her, but in his mind a relationship with her equates to having to be a different person and reach higher standards, almost be someone like Ben. So he pushes Tara away whenever she tries to open that romantic door again, and keeps his real feelings inside. Christian is essentially more content with longing for her, having short glances and conversation rather than actually try to have a better relationship with her and deal with his fears of expectations. And then of course add in this particular situation, where he doesn't want to hurt Ben and lose him as a friend. So Tara pushing to break up with Ben immediately after the night she and Christian had together all to possibly get back together stresses him out.

Christian's actions here make sense to me now. Remember his mom died like weeks before going to the Academy. He was pretty messy back then, but being at the Academy and being around his friend group made him grow to be better, albeit very slowly. Then Sammy, one of the main ones who never gave up on him and influenced him to be better, dies right before the end of 2nd year, all while his constantly absent Dad who he gets the running away habit from is prying himself back into Christian's life. All of Christian's growth was shaken when he lost Sammy, and being influenced by his Dad only fueled the bad habits he was trying to grow away from. Thus, Christian is back at square one, and it's fully up to him now to become better again - and quickly. Is it annoying? Yes. But it makes sense now.

Honestly, though I still think it's a little crazy that Christian left in the middle of that tribute to Sammy and seemingly made it all about being jealous of Tara and Ben or whatever, I can also interpret that moment a different way. His dad presented to him earlier the possibility of leaving with him to get away from the heaviness of where he's at. At first, Christian doesn't want to do this cause he relates it back to his father's habits, and as we see in season 3 that ends up becoming Christian's habit too. So immediately you can see how the heaviness of it all has finally made Christian decide to leave to clear his head, and the Sammy tribute was the last thing he really needed to be there for. I mean hey, Sammy didn't make the entire friend group pitch in for a biker jacket for Christian for nothing. Then there's the second layer of this; the Tara situation. Christian came to terms with his lingering love for Tara just before Sammy passed, and being stubborn enough to go to Tara to tell her his feelings kept him from being with Sammy on the day he died. So now that memory of Sammy's death is linked to Christian's current feelings for Tara and what could have been the beginning of the two trying a relationship again. Similar to season 1 when Tara linked their relationship to her injury, this adds a whole new weight to his feelings, and Christian is famous for running when things get hard. Finally, there's the jealousy of Ben. Christian needed that clarification from Tara about how she saw Ben vs how she saw Christian, and her answer didn't really imply that Christian was overall better for her than Ben. It implied moreso that Christian is darker and more messed up than Ben and Tara thinks that's what she needs now. Christian has previously dealt with feeling like Tara was trying to change him, or turn him into Ethan, or turn him into a "better" guy for her. So after hearing Tara's answer, it can be interpreted that Christian saw Ben as the more fit boyfriend for Tara, because he's too messed up, too dark. There's a chance that maybe what Tara said was true, that Christian's moodier, darker, self was more fit for Tara than Ben's happy-go-lucky personality, but when he sees the two dancing during the tribute, and Tara smiling and laughing and having fun in the midst of a very difficult time, he sees that (in Christian's point of view) Tara was wrong and Ben is exactly what she needs. So it's all too much for him, the weight of Sammy's absence, the connection of his desire to be with Tara with Sammy's death, and the idea that Ben might be the better man and he'll never live up to those expectations. These things cause Christian to walk out, deciding that getting away and clearing his mind with his dad might be good for him after all, and he doesn't need to prolong it when staying is only getting harder. That's my interpretation anyway. I don't see Christian leaving at the end as a 'solely him being dramatic about Tara and nothing else moment' anymore, it is about Sammy too.

i did ballet for 8 years in total (since i was 3) and i stopped like i was doing since i was 3 till i was 8 later on i continued at 11(i think) and i had to begin all over from 1st year and i had a pretty nice teacher but when i went to 3rd grade i had a different teacher and we were practicing for a performance (i don't remember what we were dancing) and she came to me and said i wasn't doing it good (she hated me bc when i was 8 and stopped ballet she was one of my teachers and she really loved me both of my teachers did and she was crying so when she saw me again she was acting like i killed her family) so she was pulling my leg higher and higher and i told her that's it cause i was really out of shape and she said "dear i know you can do more i used to teach you" so she pulled my leg and my knee almost broke i went to the hospital a day later bc i didn't feel any pain and i went to the hospital and the doctor said if i continued ballet or any other sport (i couldn't do any sport for 2 years) there is a good chance i won't walk again so the teacher couldn't teach any sport anymore and i'm doing fine now it was like 3-4 years ago

Ballet can be one hella toxic experience! It really depends on the teacher, I did 5 years of ballet and had two teachers. First one, strict, not to the point of being toxic and was good at teaching. Other one WAS A GODDAMN NIGHTMARE. She constantly said I was too fat, and she asked me, in front of everyone, if i was eating too much, or two many sweets (mind you I had the perfectly normal weight for a 9-10 yo, i was a tiny little bit chubby if i can even say that, but clearly not fat). I quit ballet when covid started, and i never regretted it
