If it wasn't for the celebrity guests promised, I'd easily choose to go to Anime NYC over NYCC (for me it's always been one or the other). Of course if they could ever convince Hayao Miyazaki to come to Anime NYC, no celebrity in the world could get me to pick NYCC that year.
