Wow! I am so amazed by this. I never thought about making one from scratch like this. Is this something that’s been passed down to you?

Would you do the same thing with a down alternative? I have a customer who wants to love seat cushions done and I have never done them before. I like the foam insert idea and actually told them that’s how I will do it. Please get back to me soon lol

Hi, this is an old video, but who did you order the down envelopes from?

I order through Ronco (roncofurniture.com) in California. There is also American Down and Feather not sure where they are located but I've heard good things.

This a simple design, but so very elegant. It, also, doesn't clash with a room's decor, but adds to it. Thank you!

In theory, if we also had a very wide cushion as well as the oversized length, would we also add 1/2” to every foot over 36” in WIDTH. Thank you in advance!

Amazing, finally a well guided video. I wonder, does the size of the cushion shrink little bit after adding stitches and the buttons? Would you add extra allowance to a foam size?

So excited to find this. Just tore down my chair and wasn’t sure what to do with the curve. I have a couple questions. How thick and how dense is the foam? Did you only put one layer of Dacron over it? Do you have a picture of finished chair? I looked through your entire facebook feed and could not spot it and did not see on blog. Thanks.

Hi Sue, I used a 2" medium HR foam. Here's the numbers from my supplier, 2.5 lb. x 25-31 IFD. I used one layer of Dacron. There is a finished photo on my instagram account (@blueroofcabin) you'll have to scroll a bit to April 2020.

Thanks so much. This is my first chair. I’ve done a couple headboards and I’m not 100% sure what I’m doing. I’ve read a lot of tutorials and watched lots of KZbin. I’m retired and am just doing to challenge myself. Your video was such a blessing. I don’t have instagram but did realize you showed finished for just a little while on here.

Question: what do you usually recommend for a sofa seat and back? I want my band width to finish 5.5” for the seat cushion and around 4.5” for the back cushion. What size foam should I ask for and density? Thanks. I’ve read that the feathers usually add around 3” more for the crown but I’m confused. Does this mean the feather insert and foam will be about7.5” thick for the 4.5” cushion? Thanks.

Great tutorial. How long does it take. I just completed one the fabric was quite a big weave so I had to stitch and anchor each stitch ( had to use at least 6 strong threads run through the needle)before continuing to the next. I felt like it took ages, my seat pad nearly 2m by 600cm.n
