What is your opinion on renting first? Do you think it’s a good idea before making the commitment to buy a property?

We have lived on Big Island for 7.5 years and I just got my first feeling of island fever. Our two children were born here and I'm starting to feel like we are missing out on a lot of activities for kids. I'm also getting tired of it feeling like summer all the time - I need to take a shower every time I go outside, even for a short walk because it is hot and humid. We have a 2 week mainland trip coming up so I'm curious to see if coming back to Hawaii feels like home or not this time.

It's so refreshing to see alternatives to cars that let you truly connect with the islands' beauty. The tips on biking and mopeds are especially helpful for newcomers. Mahalo for making sustainable travel so approachable!

Peter, you are amazing! Just moved to Oahu after living in Tokyo for 2 decades. Your spiritualism vs materialism distinction is enlightening and empowering. I let go of my business in Tokyo, moved here with 1 suitcase and am starting life over at 54 years old. The uncertainty is invigorating! Your video has helped me look more deeply into true happiness. As I look for a place to stay and for work, your words will remain in my heart. I I will put this into practice from now! I am deeply grateful for you. Aloha! Bodhi Kenyon

On Oahu they kept mentioning Queens, Straub and Kaiser. We also have Pali Momi and Kapiolani Womens and Childrens. UHCC has just become part of NCI so women with breast cancer will be able to take part in clinical trials here instead of going to the mainland.

I have a long time friend that lived for a long time in Kona and just moved to Hilo 4 years ago and She and her wife wonder why they didn't move years sooner. Kona is more "Big City Tourist vibe" and Hilo is more small town charm.

Certainly, the video is self-serving and largely misleading. We’ve lived in Hawaii 12 years. Your little quips about the various islands are meaningless at best and outright wrong at worst.
@livehawaii6 ай бұрын
You're making a lot of claims to back up over there. How is this video self-serving? And what, specifically, was incorrect or misleading? Btw when I made this video I was here for 35 years.
