We danced this last night at the Kamo club in NZ. Simple and lovely with a great back story. Thanks Kathryn deRoles for teaching.

Hello, when the two people do a Hey together (crossing in front of each other as they dance) with two single dancers on the line, is it called a Dolphin Hey where you dance?
@julieshelton760610 ай бұрын
Hi In Scottish Country Dance we would call it a dolphin reel or, formally, alternating tandem reel of three.

Love this big time! A dance with a grand plan! Looks like fun to dance too. Will try to get my group to do it. From Ballarat 🇦🇺 Australia

Thanks. It would take some practise though - especially if there are dancers unfamiliar with the general idea of weasel reels. And the two half hands across are a bit of a scramble. Good luck!

We owe you, Murrough. And what a treat to see mutual friends, going through their paces, so faultlessly. First time I have seen this, but by golly, it won't be the last.

I instinctively felt when I first met Murrough Landon ten or so years ago, at Chiswick, that the man was in more than one way, a winner. This video suggests that (for once), I was not wrong!

Many thanks for such a lovely comment Frank. It reminds me of your delightful enthusiasm when you used to dance in London. And since I watch lots of SCD videos to add them to the strathspey database I know you still express your enthusiasm widely in many other youtube comments which Im sure are also appreciated by the recipients.

Martina's wonderful misspelling has led to a beautiful dance, and the most hilarious dance notes I have ever read :)

Thanks Sue. I had fun writing the notes and am glad someone else enjoyed them (and took the trouble to say so)

Hi, I am very impressed with your editing skills. I have tried to do something similar with chroma key in Coral Video Studio, but the software does not cope well with more than one overlay. I would be interested to know what software you use for editing. Thanks ... STAN

Thanks, though I think it was more production line monotony than skill. I used Final Cut Pro (90 day free trial!) and what they call the Draw Mask effect, having reluctantly concluded that the chroma approach was never going to work for me with the constraints of my living room setup, but that I would have plenty of time in lockdown. If you want more details, search for my university email address and ask privately.
