KRoc has better pure technique. Sexton too. But Eli is an ATHLETE. He can simply push harder. One thing Tomac does that does not get enough attention is his overall body position. When he is standing, he is still so low. The change in position that he make to go from standing to sitting is more forward and back than up and down, because his hips are back and low, and his body flat. Sometimes you think Eli is sitting, when in fact he is standing...but his ass is on the seat half time time...and all his weight is on the pegs. Watch closely and you will see... This is a VERY tiring way to ride. Only Eli can really do it.

Wasnt the move from Honda to Kawi that hurt him. It was missing 6 months of racing, coming back on an all new bike and team and trying to get right back into winning. Took some time but he has been just as good on Kawi since 2017 as he was on that Honda in 15.

Tide, Eli was unhappy on the Honda...and signed with Kawi. Ironically...that was about the time they got the Honda dialed in. Sometimes thing happen with the bike and team and you regret the decision, but you had no way of predicting the future. Most deals are signed in March-May....so you have a lot of time left in the season when you decide what you will do next year.

Not super insightful pointers on the video. At the end of the day, he shuts off later, turns it on sooner and has more throttle on at more places on the track than anyone else. He's also a beast for fitness- he's as fast at the end as he is at the beginning of a moto. He doesn't often get great starts but he simply hammers away until he gets past the few in front of him.

Doing cornering drills with inside oot on the pegs forces you to develop a better feel for the tires and bike. It teaches you how to correct the bike without dabbing. Much faster, but kind of scary.

He is willing to take the chance of getting hurt that's the difference. All the elites were willing to put their lives on the line. Once some kid comes and pushes Eli he will probably retire. Eli is probably in the top 5 of all time very exciting to watch. Reminds me of stewart just on a different level. Wish there was someone else at his level to see some exciting racing again.
