Minimalism is about being able to move through life more fluidly and it seems the table is helping with that. Cheers to you for not being rigid and for doing what works for you in the present!😁

The table looks really good and also enhances functionality. I am sure it also helps to keep all the paper work in order. Great purchase.

Sensible solution, not a sellout. You can’t realistically expect to live in the presence of a cat 🐱 without a respectable perch. 😸😸😸. -V PS You’ve added DIMENSION to your lives !!! 🤗⬆

I agree, the table is a sensible purchase. I have a desk that I love. It keeps everything looking neat and does double duty as a recreation space when doing music practice and a work space when my computer is open.

It's interesting that the table made you feel less cluttered, I would have thought the opposite. I do find having it makes your home more inviting. Extreme minimalism can be so stark that it's not hospitable.

As a musician myself i would say that feeding animals and practicing, already covers those areas. Music ist an active Meditation, and reflects Most of my Feelings through playing, and at the end it makes me feel balanced and alive. Its my sort of Meditation

In my minimalist journey I have minimized most supplements. One can really go down a rabbit hole and spend a lot of money not knowing if things are doing anything for you. That said, if it's working for you and you can afford it, go for it.

You're so right. We're often caught up by marketing or product labels and buy into an idea. With Magic Mind, we noticed distinct improvements in various areas. 🤩

So great Magic Mind is working for you! Unfortunately, for this frugalista, it's a bit pricey. That said my naturopath has me taking ashwagandha in a tincture form. With the exception of the sweetener, the other ingredients are added to my daily smoothie. So cool to see they reached out to you! Wishing you the best!

Just to add, I enjoyed learning about your morning routine. Mine is very similar. I've actually been preparing the night before since grade school. It does sound too good to be true, but for it it's been a silver bullet. I think it depends on your current state of health, though. A friend of ours tried it. She's 45 and quite an energizer bunny, and she didn't find any value in it. Takeaway: it might not do anything for you if you already feel great. The science is solid though! xx

Thank you so much for answering my question! I never would have imagined that you moved kitchen appliances back with you, but it's beyond relatable. We only shipped a one cubic meter pallet from the States to Germany, and there are still unpacked boxes a month later! We're all (mostly) doing the best we can. I'd love to hear the story of how you two met and fell in love. Was it love at first sight?

You certainly put forward a convincing case for the Magic Mind product, so i’m keen to try it but have some reservations - it comes in single use plastic bottles (one bottle per day if you take it daily), which seems counter intuitive to an eco lifestyle. I would have thought 500ml or 1l bottles would be better. Then there’s the cost, after discount it’s still over R1000 for a month’s supply, and another R453 for shipping. Hmmm… think I’ll have to give it a miss! I’ll keep watching you guys through the brain fog though😂. And maybe take up running😊

Your yoga-centric fitness program sounds wonderful! I do hatha yoga twice a week, a weight/resistance band/balance workout twice a week, and walk 10k - 15k steps a day. I love the walking part best, and I try to break up the walks so that I walk after each meal, even if only for 10 minutes. But this gets harder and harder to do as the weather gets wetter and colder and darker. I try to push myself out the door even if it's raining, but I don't like to walk in the dark, so winters are hard. Any suggestions for staying motivated to walk when the weather sucks?

I completely relate to the music thing. When people ask me what sort of music I listen to, I have to say that I really don't. Maybe in the car but more often than not I'm just in the quiet. I feel like I have a lot in my head and I work it out in the silence! Also I have a couple of streaming services but don't end up watching much. I watch you all and a couple of others on KZbin. I end up reading more which I love. Anyway thanks for another great chat!

Thank you for this dose of positivity on a grey morning in the UK. I love that you are 'mostly' - I agree with other commenators on here - no one can be perfect! We are all works in progress! I, too, got fed up of tv - especially cop shows - the lead character is either very quirky or ebulliently rebellious- in either case, in real life they would have been sacked ages ago - let alone into the third and fourth season 😂!!

Oh, happy days! I'm so glad to hear we could offer a pick-me-up on a grey morning. You're so right; if people behaved that way in real life, they wouldn't get far. I get that it's entertainment, but as our mentor Brian Johnson likes to remind us, watching series on Netflix is living someone else's adventure. Why not live your own instead?

I appreciate that you share your mistakes and fails as well as things that are going well. I have watched a few channels of people whose lives are now perfect (after minimizing, decluttering or whatever), and they are super boring. By that, I mean they are not inspiring to me because they have already reached their goals. I am more inspired by people who are still making mistakes (like I am), still learning, still striving. Thank you!

Sorry lost a subscriber here. Keeping cats outside is very dangerous for them, and for wildlife. I’ve been rescuing cats for 30 years. You had one cat. Every cat I’ve rescued has loved being indoor only. Good luck with your channel.
@MostlyMindfulКүн бұрын
Thank you for sharing your perspective on rescue work. ❤😼While we respect your dedication to cat welfare, we've made a conscious choice to honor Miles's natural instincts and autonomy. Cats are natural hunters and explorers with complex instincts for roaming, climbing, and social interactions that are challenging to fully replicate indoors. We understand the safety concerns, but we believe the mental and physical benefits of outdoor freedom are essential for his wellbeing - we saw how unhappy he was when confined to apartment living. That said, every cat and situation is different. We've chosen to prioritize our guy's freedom and allow him to express his natural behaviors and make his own choices about indoor/outdoor life. Also, where we live now, he's mainly confined to our small garden, and although he loves stalking the birds and squirrels, I think they're too fast, and he's too well-fed because you can see his heart isn't really in the chase. 😂Anyway, we understand why you don't want to stay subscribed, but hopefully, you see our response and understand where we're coming from. Wishing you all the best with your rescue work. 💗💗💗

You both are so great. So relaxing to watch when my body and mind are too tired to move or think but will not sleep. My family's favorite new game is called the World Game. I got it to teach my homeschool 9 and 11yo geography, but they actually choose to play it on their own because it's fun. Miss 9 promptly memorized all the flags in the Western hemisphere and beat the pants off everyone else. I'm going to finally learn where all the island nations are.

"My hands, my hands" - Hahaha!! But seriously, talking about the Mostly in Mostly Mindful was great. It's good to be reminded that perfection is never possible, but being mindful of what we can do most of the time is progress. :D Thanks! Q: Are there social norms in S. Africa that make mindful living easier than in other places you've lived? (Sherry)

Mostly Mindful all the way!! 😁 We've added your question to next week's coffee chat (3 Nov). It's made us scratch our heads a bit, so definitely worth unpacking. PS Can you give an example of what you mean to make sure we answer properly. 😀

@@MostlyMindful I was thinking that communities with good public transportation, shared community gardens, places to borrow or rent tools and other items instead of buy, and less of a consumerism mentality would make mindful living easier, even normalized. Here in the US the social norm is everyman for himself and he who dies with the most toys wins. We are a selfish, throw-away society and that makes it more difficult to live mindfully. Does that make sense?

Hi Dori, thank you! We do our best not to be judgemental (don't always get it right 😅) because we're all on our own path, plus we've done our fair share of eating meat and buying stuff! And yes - laughing is so important. We're very fortunate to enjoy a lot of that together. 😍
