Thinking about getting the Fenix soon. Do the 7S, 7, and the 7X have different battery lives?
@JoshRomeroYT6 күн бұрын
@@brogolli Yes the larger the model the more battery life it has! FYI there is a lot of speculation that a new Fenix will be out in the next couple months… if you want to wait. I currently have no info on it but fall is a good time for releases.

How long is your commute
@Shindinru10 күн бұрын
This is one of the oldest debates, along with Hub/Mid-drive or Cadence/Torque sensor, in e-biking. An e-bikes with a dead battery is still a bike. The weight of a motor, controller and battery is less impactful on a cargo bike. I do try to avoid integrated electrical components, displays for example, because of their usual custom nature.

@JoshRomeroYT10 күн бұрын
@@orangespy it’s hilly! If the gearing is right just slow and steady. I have to give myself plenty of extra time on the commute if I choose to take the cargo bike

As long as being in a hurry/ racing others and having a light bike is NOt on your list of things to do then you’re all set. These things are tanks, especially equipped with the cheap heavy wheels and components they come with now a days. You better be in good shape if your buddies all have carbon bikes😂

Good assessment. I was lucky, my nephew worked at the patent office and revealed the "Xtracyle" to me 20 years ago! Intrigued, I purchased one and put it on an old Gary Fisher mountain bike! Wow, I could haul many things! First I used child sests, then the "magic carpet" and "hooptie" to ride the grand children around. Many great memories were made on that bike! In my mid 60's now, living in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, I think of getting an electric conversion. One could do that at anytime without much price difference compared to the "factory built" electric option. As one commentor stated, frame installed electric motors might prove to be a liability rather than an asset in the long term. That's just my "two cents".

A ride buddy of mine has one of these. It looks and feels solid and the manufacturing is high quality. It makes every other pump I've picked up feel like a toy. Apart from the cost - I could buy 4 or 5 other pumps for this price - the only downside I can see is the weight. Its a chunky monkey. But, I reckon it'll last a good long while.

You’re 100%correct, technology does not age well. Another reason is that e-bikes are about to become the new recipients of registration and insurance regulations, just wait for it and some combinations just aren’t going to be allowed. They’ll be grandfathered in, but it will still be there and you’ll have to deal with it. The best thing I ever heard is if you don’t use it, you lose it. It applies to me because I had a stroke and was considering a recumbent bike and was told keeping your balance on a regular bike that you would lose on a recumbent bike and the exercise you get with an ebike is marginal at best.

Sadly it looks like Garmin will switch completely to amoled. Polar and Suunto have done the same with their top models. I guess they all want me to save money in the future. Now 2 years after epix was released mote and more people mention display burn in if they had the watch always on. Its unusable on a bike with dimming after seconds!! I do wonder if we will loose the mip displays completely. Even dcrainmaker campaigns for amoled like a braindead. It will ruin the sports watches market for me.

Massive fan of my rigid eggplant monkey with 3.0 dirt wizards. Grew up on BMX, and my theory is that my old muscle memory plays a big role in why I have more fun on the monkey than anything else for 95% of mtb things. It's like a big kid MTB-BMX fantasy. Other than a couple small bits like grips, the only thing I changed from the start was adding a dropper, like you. Not sure that I ever intend to throw on a squishy fork, but this bike with a dropper is crazy capable and comfortable. It made me a huge fan of plus tires too, and I pretty quickly swapped in a wider set on my full suspension. I suppose this goes for surly in general, but one of my favorite things is the adaptability. Planning to pick up a second gravel-ish wheelset that I can easily swap in and transform the bike in 30 seconds.
@Animalstyle6917 күн бұрын
I suggest instead of doing that just finding a deal on a cheap gravel bike at the end of the season no matter what wheels you put on a surly it’s still gonna weigh a ton compared to any gravel bike
