NO! DON'T DO IT! I paid full price PLUS insurance and within 6 months the ring (not my finger) bulged and no longer fits on my finger or charger in addition to holding a charge for a whole day. Not 7 days as advertised. I went through all the hoops in chat support to provide order #, explain the problem in detail, and photos. I was promised a new sizing kit to start a new ring order which never came. I also asked the original support chat to remain open until weve completed my order do we dont have to start from scratch on this manufacturing defect. I go to the chat to inform them ive not received the promised sizing kit and they closed it out even after confirming they would keep the ticket open. There's two reasons for this. They either cant understand English well enough to complete a support ticket or they purposely led me on to avoid providing a new ring which I've already paid for in advance by purchasing their insurance when i bought their expensive and poorly made ring. I'm enraged with their actions after paying for insurance and now i dont even want their ring. I want my money back. I do not recommend dealing with this Indian company. And im not getting money from videos or anything. All my experience as of today. TrustPilot customer service score is "poor" with 2.5 stars 😮

2yr update? Do you regret going non electric? I’m debating myself. Your first three points resonate with me. Additionally, my city is pretty flat, I may see a 3-4% grade every now and then
@JoshRomeroYT4 күн бұрын
Hi! I think after using it more and more I still really enjoy the analog nature of it although cant lie and say that I wouldn't emjoy an E version of the bike. I am thinking of potentially going the Bafang route and making it electric myself.
@Modrunnermusic4 күн бұрын
@ I will say, your honesty encourages me to go the same route. Getting a non ecargo bike then converting for the sake of removing it all if I want to. I really like the aspect of it being a regular bike first without built in motor and battery

Surly's motto is "make your own" and it's not just a catch phrase to sell bikes. I own 2 Surlys (Disc Trucker and Wednesday) and may own a Monkey or Krampus this year. Surly truly does make bikes with adaption in mind. My Trucker can be setup for world-wide touring, randonneuring, gravel grinding, even some light trail work.

My favorite aspect of bike commuting is the physical and metal reset between locations and I totally agree on your idea of feeling in touch with each season. This has been my first winter that I have been committed to full time commuting now that I have a dedicated fender bike and it has been great so far. Im hoping to pick up a cargo bike soon, it would be rad to hear more about how you've implemented your cargo setup for your needs.

burley website is not user friendly.. they have no search feature doesn't work unless you ask for their coded words.. to find the PLUS SIZE 16" tires to find the specs.. and unless you can GUESS what category or other their specific trailer they go to... you will never find what your looking for, the old website was easier, click on the Accessories tab and everything showed up, and that tab allowed you to search the accessories... You also had a way to see all of their trailers with one click tab.. Now you have to figure out what category a trailer is in to locate it on the site.. It is a nightmare to navigate and find items.. Similar to IKEA stores, they put you on a path, where you are required to walk thru the entire 2 floors o the store, and walk by every item in order to find the zip lock bags. or the lights, (but not all the lights are in the same area) so you have to watch every area to find the string lights. I hate IKEA for making me spend an entire day looking for one item,, I hate Burley for making me look at every item to find one part.. Yes they have amazing products and quality.. But i won't buy one because the shopping experience is such a confusing nightmare..

I've run-commuted to work a few times and it's pretty fun. You'd think your coworkers would be all "wow!" but it's proof that nobody pays much attention to others or worse they feel threatened by somebody going against the grain and don't like it. The responses are very, very interesting.

I used to run to work (3.5 miles) when I lived in downtown Seattle. It wasn't because I thought it was healthier or anything. It was just faster due to the crazy traffic in downtown Seattle. But I have to say, it was a nice way to start and end each day.

First bought a bike decades ago, when my only car broke down, and I was in college. Was very embarrassed and insecure on a hybrid Cannondale. Within a year, if you didn't ride a bike, you weren't worth diddly-squat in my book! Never got off it, never bought another car. I now see the auto industry as Financial Vampires. How do you like the mirror at the bottom of your handle bars? It looks interesting to reduce the head turns while riding
@JoshRomeroYT17 күн бұрын
@@BUCKSHOTSTV I think it’s great and works well when you pair it with something like a radar… the FOV is pretty narrow as it’s used to look down the road behind you. This means you could have a potential blindspot and I don’t use it when merging… I turn the head… however even if you don’t have a radar it’s nice to know when a car is coming up behind just by a simple look down at the mirror… for this it’s KING !

@billywood971718 күн бұрын
Good question. I live in East Central Indiana and it can get brutal. The lowest temp I commute in is about 15 degrees. Commuting takes a lot of prep. You need storage for layers and extra clothes if you overheat. You will build a tolerance to the brisk air. As well as a particular diet and routine that keeps you warm. Plenty of videos about winter riding.

I commute to work daily (21 miles each way). My rule is that if it's not raining on the exact moment when I have to leave the house, I cycle. Because I live in Belgium and we have dedicated cycle paths and even cycle highways, I can listen to podcasts and music without worrying about cars creeping up on me from behind and that add's to the "me-time" experience that I cherrish so much. Anyway, I really appreciate your videos. Do you have a Strava account where I can follow you? I always like to follow people from other countries :)

Pretty much the same here in the Netherlands. For me it's only a short trip of 3 miles but I still enjoy it. I don't listen to music most of the times, if I do it's via a bone conducting headphone. I want to hear my surroundings. I only take the car when it's raining too hard or when it's icy (haha the last time was years back 😂)

Good on you! Commuted by bicycle year round in Connecticut for twenty one years. It was a thirteen mile ride each way from Bridgeport to Norwalk. Started purely for financial reasons but soon found health (mental and physical), environmental and joy were just as important. Mind boggling others have not found this mode of transportation exists and is more than feasible. Retired ten years ago but the bicycle is still my primary transportation.
