I use a ZOOM H5 Handy Recorder for my bird recordings. Your course have enough information and I have found them very helpful. Basic and it gets me started.

If you wanted to add effects to the audio on a DAW outside fairlight/resolve, how would you unlink sound tracks from video and export as mp3 for edit in other software?
@EnigmaticPsych02 жыл бұрын
Also, when recording straight into your project, is that clip movable? Both on the timeline and/or into another program for effects edits?
@teachinglearningteamuva67392 жыл бұрын
If you right-click or Ctrl-click on a linked audio+video clip, select 'Link' to uncheck it. Then, you can select the audio separately from the video. You can then copy it to a new timeline or set in/out points to export just the section with the audio - there is an Audio Only preset in the Delivery workspace. You'll need to reimport it from the DAW that way. Another option - export the timeline using the ProTools or XML options, and import these into your DAW. Some may or may not support this.

When recorded directly in the program, the clip will be movable in the timeline. See the other reply on moving to an external DAW.

Do you have to install LAME?
@teachinglearningteamuva67392 жыл бұрын
LAME comes with the Windows and Mac versions, but not Linux. If using Linux, you can find instructions on the Audacity manual wiki: manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_installing_the_lame_mp3_encoder.html

i m trying to change blend mode of text layer but i can't pls tell how to change text blend mode thanks
@teachinglearningteamuva67392 жыл бұрын
Blending Modes (called "Composite Modes" here) for text layers are in the Inspector Panel. Make sure your clip is selected, select the Video tab in the inspector, then select 'Settings' (instead of Title; near the top the panel). You'll find it in the "Composite" section: "Composite Mode"

Do you have other videos that deal specifically with addition intro and outro music to a voice recording and then exporting the finished project to Google Drive?
@teachinglearningteamuva67392 жыл бұрын
We do not have a specific video for that, but you can find info on much of it scattered through the video series. To upload to Google Drive, you'll need to export (video 4) and upload the exported file.

How do you record a second audio track while listening to the first? I clicked Track-->Add New. The new track appears, I select it, but I can't "engage" it. I hit record and nothing happens. Overdub is enabled in Transport Options, Overdub and Record on a new track are both checked in Recording Preferences and Software Playthrough is unchecked. And I can hear myself in the mic while just playing the first audio track so I know that configuration is correct.
@teachinglearningteamuva67392 жыл бұрын
First, I would quit completely, and then re-open it. You'd be surprised how often that helps with Audacity. Then, make sure you have the correct type of track - mono or stereo - to match your input and that the correct one is selected with the yellow highlight. Also, make sure it isn't paused, but fully stopped before trying to record. Hopefully that helps.

I lost two days of work because the "time-shift" or "clip handles" on the new version is gone. HOW DO I MOVE CLIPS????? Well in one of your vids you mentioned one cannot edit in pause mode. The manual has no reference to this basic but job stopping and incredibly frustrating issue but it was that little clue that got me on track. So thanks for that, good vids BTW

how do i control the decibels level in audacity with out switch changing the frequency or the volume when change to the decibel view?
@teachinglearningteamuva67392 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I'm not sure I understand the question fully - the decibels level is a measurement of volume. To turn up or down, you can pull the +/- slider on the whole track or you can use the envelope tool for an individual clip.
