Just wondering why you ran new wiring? We have two lights out and the pool guy is quoting $1500 each for parts and install.

@@gloombastic yeah - we had that same kind of $response$ from our pool guy- the light we bought had the cord attached and it couldn't be removed

Is it normal when after you got everything put back together and the dryer started, that you can smell almost like a burning smell?
@DadDoItYourself
@DadDoItYourself 8 күн бұрын
Hmmm.. Ours didn't have that at all - but maybe it was like the heater after being off all year? The first time it smells funny? Try it a couple times and see if it goes away. Personally, the smell doesn't stop, I'd return that part and try a second one.

So if I want to get to the lint housing that’s behind the dryer, I need to take off the drum?

Awesome job! Thanks for taking the time to share your upgrade and installation. Your DIY work has made it to Michigan 😎! Funny to see you in a wetsuit in Florida, and what you probably feel is "cold" vs what we experience here in the northern states. ( lol ) Looking to upgrade our old existing 500W halogen T3 double ended bulb with an LED kit. Appreciate you sharing your journey to help others. Especially like your commentary regarding the electrical (drivers, transformers...) thanks again.

Thanks for creating this video. I have the same dryer and mine is not heating. So probably I have the same issue. Where did you get your heating element? When you were sliding the heating assembly back into the dryer, could you have connected the sensor wires before putting it back? Thanks
@DadDoItYourself
@DadDoItYourself 5 ай бұрын
@tomcrutchfield2999 You are welcome. It happens so suddenly! We picked up the element on Amazon for less than $20. As far as putting the heating assembly back, there isn't enough slack in the wires to connect before putting it back in the dryer. Here's where you can find the part: bit.ly/whirlpoolheatingelement

@@DadDoItYourself I have the new heating coil installed and the wiring hooked up, but having issues getting the heating tube seated into the opening in the rear of dryer. I'm assuming I need to get the flange that is on top of the heating tube to insert into the opening. Or am I wrong and it just snugs up against the opening. Would like your direction on this. Thanks

@@tomcrutchfield2999 yes it is a pain. to get he tube seated back. I installed the bracket to the tube first. Then screw in the holdning bracker and used that and some manipulation to hold the tube tight to the intake duct. I was not sure the prupose of the small tab at the rear of the element tube.(seemed to be in the way) I ended up turning ithe tab down with pliers and was able to get a tight fit. If you find a reason for the tab , id love to hear it for the other veiwers.
