Great Video Sam. I think a piece of Pipe might work, but it wouldn’t be right. I think with your Great Work Ethic, it would drive you crazy knowing the Work isn’t perfect. I think using the correct Spacers was not only the right thing to do, but the satisfaction of a Job well done. That McCormick Engine and Carriage is Beautiful. Great Job Sam.😁👍👍

@@CalPil0t thank you it's interesting that these later videos don't get that many views after all those years of all those videos. I wonder why he stopped doing cooking videos.

@@countrydirtkid4451 I don't know about the cooking videos, but his Maytag engines, among others, are definitive.

It will feel more natural if you spin the other flywheel to start it, and you won't knock the fan belt off.

Looking for better fuel mileage as far as transmission goes, I'd go with a 700r4. It's got a nice low 1st gear and overdrive as 4th. No electronics, just old school hydraulics.

The power glide and the 350 turbohydromatic are both 1 to 1 in drive and keep in mind that the speed limit was over 70mph when the power glide was popular, the 350 just has an extra lower gear for pulling off from a stop but there's no difference in rpm at hyway speed
