I had wondered for a while if it was the exhaust pipes or manifolds that gave the e9 v8 that sound, but I recently read it's the firing order that gives the Mack V8 that unique sound

I love my Detroit's, grown up around them on boats and just love the sound. But these Mack v8's are so unique in sound and are fucking awesome as well. I love to put one in a boat. Shame they never marinised any. These would have been great tug boat or trawler motors with there torque.

You are correct. I had two 7.3 PSDs and they sounded close to this. I had the privilege to ride in an E9 powered Superliner years ago that was set at about 700 hp or so. You could really feel the power of that thumper.

When i was a kid i was riding with my uncle haling loggs in a super liner an a real big peacock stepped out in the road an i said well just what he thank he doing my uncle said i guess he wants to fight the dog I never got it tell he was long dead an gone an walked past the noise of an R model an it hit funny hale that shit happens... great truck great video 👍👍👍👍

Back in the day, in Australia when those things were pulling roadtrains hard, you could hear them coming miles away.........and as they went past you could hear the 12 speed Mack gearboxes howling.

That is just beautiful mate. Been over Traffords many times but never in a seat like that. Bloody awesome. Took me a while to figure out where you where without looking at the comments.
