Looks like the cross Ts are not long enough if the border tiles are the full 24”. Unsure what to do in this case.

How many cuts of top hanger are wasted with this silly border nonsense? Sounds like a way to sell more pieces since those cut offs are junk

It would be nice if Home Depot included my 16 2’ Cross T’s…. I had everything setup to go and realized they weren’t in the packaging. Kinda frustrated but also my fault for not re-reviewing what was in the box.

Would you recommend staggering each row of runners so the seems between the runners within the same row aren't in the same line with each other? Sort of like bricks are staggered on top each other

What to do for 1 wall bracket short? Anyone know?
@jwolfe94023 жыл бұрын
I found (the hard way) that you must snap the runner in after the FIRST row is in. There is no way that the runner simply pushes up into the hanger in the space between the joists. It's just too flimsy. You have to "squeeze" them together. If I ever need to take a tile down it apparently will not be easy to get the runner snapped back in. In answer to another question below....individual pieces are available at Menards. Home Depot has the 'kits' and Lowes doesn't carry it at all.

I have to remove one ceiling panel to find a roof leak. How do you Unsnap it? Everytime I try it feels like it's going to break. Is there a technique? I LOVE your product!.

the border tile size formula for the 2x4 tiles makes NO sense. ie in my room the length is 15'......using 3x 4' tiles gets me to 12'...I now have 3' left over...if I were to center the tiles by length I would need a border tile of 1.5 ' or 18"....on either end....WTF is this formula "rounding down to the nearest whole foot length divisible by 4?+...yup...there you have 12...now add 48"...to WHAT? the remaining 3'? (36") ...12'?..???then divide by 2???...never in a million years will you get the correct measurement....I don't know if this is some sort of "new math"...but whatever..IT DOESN'T WORK!

I was going to use this product, but refuse to now because of the way they sell it in 100 sq. ft or 64 sq. ft. kits. Based on my ceiling dimensions, I would end up with a huge waste of unused pieces. I can't believe a company would be this irresponsible. I am going with Ceiling Link instead. With this company, you order what you need.

Don't be fooled, this is not as easy as it looks. My room was far from being square. The plastic is flimsy and if you are 1/16 off at the start how far off are you at the end of a run, a lot. What worked for me is to screw the first one in and have the middle and end held up semi-tight against the joist with a string, this gave me some wiggle room. I installed one tile and when it was square I screwed it down and moved to the next one. After I got the hang of it the job went pretty fast and the finished product look great. Just don't thing you are going to do this job in a couple of hours. Also, can't buy this product local and if you are one strip short you will pay a fortune for it because of shipping. If I had to do it over again would I use this produce, yes. Going to do another room next month.

i do this type of thing for a living too. and i just completed doing three rooms with this system. there are several issues with this system. all the materials are plastic or vinyl and very flexible so you have to be careful to keep them straight. if your room is not square it presents a new set of issues. also when installing your 24" cross Ts i recomend leaving a small gap rather making them tight. if they are tight you may not be able to get your finish strip in
@jacklindon1937 жыл бұрын
You are right about your last point. I installed mine with the cross Ts tight, as stated in the instructions, then had problems with the tiles not fitting. I had to trim 1/16" off each tile to allow me to snap in the runners. I went through great lengths to ensure that the hangers were absolutely straight. The flexibility of the top hangers also prevented me from snapping in the runners from the bottom without some rigid support from above. If I follow the procedure in this video, it is so hard to snap the runners in, and the top hangers flex so much, that the tiles break. I had to install each row of runners before adding the next row of tiles so that I could grip the hanger from the top and runner from the bottom with my hand between the joists and squeeze them together. I was shocked at how much force I needed to get the pieces to snap together. I don't know how I am ever going to remove any tiles in the future, and if I did, how would I ever get them back in since I just can't get the runners to snap in by just pushing upward alone (except directly underneath a joist).
@tonyandhelen8126 Жыл бұрын
@@jimbee8915 A small gap where? The runners are notched at 24", if you spread the runners to allow for a 'gap', the cross Ts won't fit.

@henridiaz Some1 should release a turd-powered speaker & U will pretend it's awesome because it is 'new' LoL!! U will come up with some lie about how the smell of sewage during playback heightens the realism of the experience (if U R listening 2 recordings of people on the toilet perhaps =)
@Deathrape200113 жыл бұрын
@henridiaz Everything U R saying is the exact opposite of the truth. U do this on purpose, just 2 troll & B a jackass. The larger the driver, the more NARROW the sweet spot, due 2 off axis phase cancellation. NXT R not flat panels. They R voice coils attached 2 a flat surface, & that is the main reason they all suk so bad = no excursion, no clarity, high mass, low strength = everything U could possibly do wrong with a speaker design. I suggest U stop pretending U R deaf.
@henridiaz13 жыл бұрын
If they're anything like NXT flat panels they're probably awesome for their size & weight with a large sweet spot and uncolored, flat overall response.

You people obviously have not the first clue in those vast, empty spaces of gourds you call a heads. The ability to have the ENTIRE surface generating sound is beyond EVERY traditional speaker tech out there.With the correct setup, you could have a room completely full of sound, without the necessity of having to find a place to put thoses pesky 'surrounds'. Look at it like this, how many cubic feet of wall space do you have? How many cubic feet are in the largest home theater? Thats the diff.
@Roys3dShop15 жыл бұрын
Anyone know how they sound? I love the idea of hidden speakers for a clean finished look in a home theater setup. The commercial states the sound isn't directional so I have to wonder if they would be of any use in a home theater surround setup where directional sound is crucial. The only sound that should be non directional in a home theater is the sub.

The walls and plaster will not crack. if you watched the video, you'd know that the microscopic vibrations generated by the speaker move only microns. And the nylon mesh that covers the speaker and wall prevent any cracking. There are thousands of successful installations without any cracking.
