Gatemouth smacks it outta the park. Saying that, the Stones started as a blues band and for mine they still are! Wish Mick and Keith would now just chill out and play together. Micks a mean harp player and Keefy no slouch! Blues men through and through!

Taj Mahal et James Cotton, brilliant & definitive version, sounding almost like a pre war classic. ( to me).

Fantastic. I’d like to see Jimmy Page do this on an acoustic. Good luck to him.

Interesting to hear him singing in clear English rather than the sort of pseudo-celtic accent he affects for a lot of his material. Why doesn't he sing in his own voice more often?

Superb stuff from Richard who is one of the great guitarists. Three of the best Who songs plus the intro for Pinball Wizard slotted in. Some great improvising also on just acoustic guitar. Would have loved to have been in the audience.

Thank you for uploading this. I recorded a tape of this performance off the radio in the 90s and absolutely loved it. Sadly I lent it to a friend and never got it back, so it's a real pleasure to hear it again.

Oh man, I remember hearing Richard perform this on acoustic guitar during the encore of a show at the Iron Horse in Northampton, MA. Late 80s, maybe early 90s. I was thrilled.

Mick would be the first to scream the paise of Gatemouth Brown. It would be great if he came in and added a comment on this and the limitless Gatemouth.

I first heard Taj Mahal in 2005 when I saw him perform in a Rolling Stones DVD I bought called Rock & Roll Circus, a great concert video filmed in 1968.

I was at this show and am on the cover of this CD. I saw Material Issue when they played with the Replacements at the Patrillo Band sell, taste of Chicago. I also was at the concert where they played with the Pretenders. I actually saw them at the Metro 2 weeks b4 Jim Ellison commuted suicide. They are and always b my favorite band. There was nothing like being on the floor right in front of Jim. His persona was like no other. He was the best entertainer I ever had the pleasure of seeing over and over again.
