Designed in the mid 60’s, 124 Spiders still turn heads in the 2020’s, and because they are beautiful and current. A masterpiece of design.

I had a 76…there is a guy in LA named Mark Allison who does really nice metal bumpers for these. See his vids here on KZbin.

My convertible car broke down last year and truly missing a drop top. I won a 2020 Fiat 500x SUV love that engine! Am looking to get a smaller convertible now and the 124 seems likely. I do not think the bumpers look that bad actually the front isn't improved all that much looks sorta odd with those rubber bumps up front the rear looks ok with the removal but then you get this HUGE exhaust pipe displaying so....

Thanks for the useful video. I have ordered the flange for my T25 as it is all cracked and the van cuts out while driving.

hi, very nice project congrats. one question: are those really just american bumpers, since i think they are standard on late 70ties and 80ties models also in europe ?

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated peoples gas station per city. From 2027 on the will even stop the production and the import of certain car parts as exhaust systems, catalysts and even stop selling engine lubricants.......

That’s surprising to hear! 😳

@@charliesgarageuk5881 The decission is already forced through the EU courts, From 2025 on fuel will cost 5 Euros and from 2030 on all combustion cars are illegal. Sadly today China gives the orders in the EU.... here in Germany large Chinese batterie and rare earth companies paid millions to politicians for this stupid decission to bann all combustion cars and make fuel illegal like alcohol during the probition years in the USA from 2025 on...

I just did an MOT history check, and I reckon you may have found a rare rust free one of those. As the mileage is low, that may have saved it. Get some under seal under there, and don't let the cambelt snap. 36000 miles or 3 years. Belt, variation and water pump around £400 😀
@charliesgarageuk58813 жыл бұрын
You read my mind! I got the cambelt changed as soon as I bought it and I’m planning on getting underseal too 👍

I wanted to buy this very car but called the guy one day too late apparently. I'm glad it went to a caring owner. I own a 2000 from 1979. They are amazing little cars. Thanks for the info on removing the bumpers, I'm going to convert it to Chrome bumpers asap.

@@charliesgarageuk5881 Thanks- here in the US, back in the day, they called the hated 5mph bumpers “cow catchers”, after the old time locomotives- folks took them off the Fiat and left them “naked”; same as with the ugly “black bumper” MGB (only Moss Motors makes a chrome bumper conversion kit for the MGB)
