This is funny because it exemplifies why some people hate Simon. Here he says it looks like a high school production and then in another episode he says she looks like a 50-yeard old. Simon COHEN was very unfair to Diana on almost every season 3 episode.

I don't think that she knew what, "dignity", meant. She used it incorrectly in a sentence. She was talking about playing boy's football while she was growing up, (which, like, WHAT?! I kinda wanna call bs on that one. They usually don't just let girls play football on the dude's teams, but whatever), she said, "When I grew up, I played football on the boys teams for 3 years, and throughout those years, I had to overcome so much, just to get the respect and DIGNITY that I deserved". Other people can give you the respect that you deserve. Other people cannot GIVE you the dignity that you deserve. Like, you aren't GIVEN, nor can anyone GIVE someone else dignity. Dignity is a quality that one possesses, and/or demonstrates, (that they possess), in their words, and/or actions, unlike respect, which is something that one gives to another. A person HAS, and/or DISPLAYS dignity. A person SHOWS, and/or GIVES respect. Confuscious has spoken, lol.

It is weird, because for me, Latoya was better than Fantasia. She is a significantly better singer, and even Simon said during one episode that Latoya was probably the best singer in the competition. However, this song was indeed quite WEIRD. I listened to the original version, and it sounds like a cartoon character is singing. Why would she choose this weird song from 1979 given the vast repertoire from the 70s? Given her demeanor during this episode, it seems almost like she wasn't even putting much effort into finding a song that would impress the judges and the audience. Unfortunately, it seems like for whatever reason she decided to be TOO chill and laid back in trying to win toward the end of the season. So 16-year-old Diana sprinted past her, deservedly. But Latoya could have won.

This is what cost her a spot in the top three. It’s FAR from the worst thing ever, but it’s certainly not that good. “Feel the Fire” was better, but still nowhere near her best. Compare that to Nikki, who gave what were her TWO best performances yet this night. Do I think Tamyra deserved to go home all over this? No… but that’s the nature of these competitions: a single bad performance-no matter how good you are otherwise-can send you packing.

Ruben is from my home town & I remember being so proud of him on this show & especially on the finals. When he was singing this , it was so beautiful & emotional. Clay was tremendous but America voted for Ruben. This is when the show was at its best
