If you want to do it 100% legally you can try to get a temporary licence for gsm but you will need to look into that more , or you can do it the "pirate" way which has its risk s

You can connect this system to use a public phone number but i dont recomend running a public network at full power since it can get you caught

Hey this may be late however im wondering the range of this GSM base station. Most providers in the us use the same frequency as the base station and they do not take well when people decide to use there spectrum without a licence. Also what band of GSM does it broadcast on? Thanks!!

There are 2 versions of this sdr , the 1800/1900 mhz and the 850/900mhz version there are some bands that are "safe" to use because they are unused. The range is about 1km (thats the transmit range at full power which i dont recomend) usable range is a few meters

That depends on what band your phones support, and what you can use safly without causing any problems. I have the 750-1050 version because i can useit somewhat safely on the ism band and i can monitor it on my rtl sdr , also it has bigger range.

Simple question, i have a old Nokia 3310 who works on 2G. There are still providers available here, Vodafon and Kpn. I have a sim in the Nokia 3310 for Kpn and it works fine. But if i want to make a 2G network, how do i program a sim card to use my own network? Otherwise other phones can connect with my network.

You can use any old sim you have just go on the manual network selection and pick your network.

I used windows server 2012 r2 for this . You can find guides for windows server 2003 which is actually similar procces to the newer version and i might make a video when i fix that computer again.

I wouldn't imagine it'd be that far using this setup. However, since T-Mobile shut down their servers which were the last ones, like, ever. You can make it have as much range as you prefer.

The duties are included in the shiping price or at least thats how it was the last time i ordered. Also about the 1800mhz you want to make sure you use something that other providers dont use and you devices support. I preffer the low band version because of its longer range and the fact i can monitor it via my rtl-sdr. Make sure to do your research about the channels you can use safely and feel free to ask questions if you want.

Yes any 2G device and work. Just make sure you use the right frequncys as to not mess with any other operators
