Hey, just a quick reminder that when power is "critical" when referring to nuclear reactors (both fission and fusion) it means the power is stable and not going up or down, so no worries at all. Blame Hollywood for pretending "going critical" or "almost reaching critical" means it's about to explode when in fact it just means it is turning on. cheat sheet: Shutdown - off Subcritical - power is going down Critical - Stable. Normal power is being supplied. Supercritical - Power is going up. Still safe, it just means the higher power demands are causing an increasing reaction rate and producing more heat per second. Could eventually be bad if power isn't balanced later. PROMPT Critical - THIS is *actually bad*. This is where it *could* go boom or meltdown depending on the design. Lots of things have to go *really* wrong to get here, to the point it would take deliberate sabotage and disabling of failsafes. Power is rapidly increasing completely independently of most of the normal balancers feedback. Calls for an immediate emergency SCRAM (instant shutdown).

You gotta get an animator for these somehow. It'd be like netflix's love death and robots. But better.
