Phytoplankton needs to be in total suspension in the water column as settling will cause the phytoplankton to degrade in a short period of time

Careful with the seams.. even if G2, keep an eye on them with a tank this size

nah impossible to leak on this specific tank because its euro braced on top and bottom smaller tanks arent

@@Mrpov_ its not the eurrobrace on the G2, it was the cabinet bowing causing the bottom seal to blow. they provided a upgrade kit for the stand if i recall.

Hi, having the same tank with even more bells and whistles I dont think its absurd 🙂 It has been running for two years now too, but yours looks way better. I had some setbacks with corals, but now everything starts to grow. I love your videos, they have given me lots of tips on my tanks.

My wife got to feel the pain on upgrading reef tanks went from a 60 cube to a s550g2 I think tank and equipment is sitting at 13k

Open box brs is the way to go, plus you still get reefer reward points! Just about everything I’ve got equipment wise is from there or used stuff from other reefers. Better than buying full retail as long as you know who to trust and what to buy.

What the hobby needs is unification of cable types. I hate it so much. So many different barrel sizes, need to be able to get extensions easily.

@@InfiniteReef Always a good thing. I use the season table and set it to Fiji and with the tank in the basement I have to run more. I keep mine 78-82 has worked great for years now.

i think my 230 sps gallon tank with all gear (no critters or coral) would be close to 18000 usd easy, Thin,k with coral and fish easy 25000 usd. Running 8 red sea 160 and 8 x39 watt t5. Pump ecotech l2 and 6 ecotch mp40 (unning 70% max) rest fReefmat, 8 pump dosing system ,2 Pellets filters and 1 Media filter. skimmer Tunze 9840 professional (4 pump skimmer) is only available on special order as it skimmer up 2000 gallon ,rest is monitoring gear (focustronic)

Can you share what your Orphek schedule looks like? Mines insanely white. I want it a bit more blue lol

I will say the orpheks run very white even with blue all the way up. I'm using the Mantis reef settings from reef2reef but I bumped it up 20% Lights on 11am 12pm. Ch. 3,4,5. 20% 2pm Ch.1 10%. Ch.2 35% Ch.3,4,5 60% Ch.6 45% 6pm. Ch.1 25% Ch.2 50% Ch.3,4,5 75% Ch.6 60% 10pm Ch.1 10% Ch.2 35% Ch.3,4,5 60% Ch. 6 45% 11pm Ch.3,4,5 35% Lights off 12am

Just a oponion but whenever I have kept deresea clams I have noticed rapid growth and more flesh once I dose phytoplankton. Also haven't had one die once I dose phyto.

ATI Straton pros or the philips coral care for me. Ive had Radions. Got one philips cheap off another reefer closing their tank down. So i have the philips in the middle and the two stratons on the outside. And if had to choose between the two id go for the Stratons but its close for me

I can only smell it if I open the cabinet and get pretty close. Here we have low humidity so I think it cuts down on smell by drying it out

i just installed a Meridian on my tank. I haven't dialed it in yet since I don't have coral yet but from first impressions I'm happy with it. The app works well and is simple to set up.
