Why is this choke to be used only if youre down on points?
@Borol9456 минут бұрын
Because there’s always chance that they wont tap, and then You’ll give them position for free. High risk-high reward. Try it on trial class guy. 1000% you get tap. Try it on purple belt, he’ll be grateful for easy money.

Idk fs, but I assume it’s a risky move that could land you in a worse position. If you are already down a bunch of points, then the possibility of being put in a worse position doesn’t matter as much because you were going to lose anyway. But yeah idk

@orlando8014 I only ask because I love this choke and hit it all the time winning or losing, gi or no gi, and in several variations from lapel at the neck or on the tail. Waiting to hear if it's considered dirty or something silly lol

A measure of one’s own ability in a specialized form of fighting. In the grand scheme of life’s challenges, don’t let a belt color go to your head.

Lol. People are like don't date your co-workers, don't date your friends, don't date the people at the gym. But it doesn't matter people interact they get to know each other and they date. Such is the human condition.

I was a "sandbagger" had wrestling experience along with more martial arts. I honestly just wanted to be respectful to learning a new art. I have learned it's the best way if the gym owner is a jerk.

Question; I'm a 2 stripe white belt. I've been training for 1 year. I heard that just drilling with no resistance doesn't make you better; Having your partner resist about 10% to 20% will make you better because in live roles, no one is just going to let you do anything to them. What's your opinion on this professor?

I think it would be prudent to listen to the students and think about what you're doing as an instructor to make the students not value your class

Bullies, with inferiority complexes getting blackbelts is common. What is not common is learning humility with all that training. Sometimes, you just can't fix stupid.

Practicing with your friends is way more helpful because you actually know them. Im not going in there to go against some loser who failed in every aspect of his life except getting his purple belt and makes it his mission at 28 years old to twist my ankle around

It's higher percentage as a sweep but there are some mods you can make to the technique that will improve those odds.

You thought you did something with this but things are changing. Yall want 120 bucks a month to teach 3 techniques and roll after. Or the switch up is live drilling. Which in what realm do you just start im someones guard or mounted. You dont. Things can change. Classes arent the end all be all. Atleast not the old school way.

I under reported my experience in karate because it’s experience I had as a kid. Even though I remember some stuff I’d like to start over and learn as new so I can truly perfect it. I think the guy that made the video needs to get over himself and realize not everyone wants to give their coach their whole life story when they first meet them.
