The broken horn in my old Chevy Cruze is louder than that supertone thing....

I googled "can I install a train horn on my Mercedes?" I meant a car or SUV, like my 2025 GLC 300 4matic, or one of my boyfriend's cars (he has 2 older Mercedes cars) but every video shows a freaking Sprinter van, except one weird guy who has an old Mercedes station wagon... But seriously, I want to install a train horn or something in my GLC because I have this ability to turn every vehicle I drive completely invisible and totally soundless. No one can ever see or hear ANY vehicle I drive...(I BET even if I drove my boyfriend's giant CANARY YELLOW box truck, it would be invisible to other drivers) And now that I have a literal brand new Mercedes, I want people to _KNOW_ my car is there...

install wiring kit not available for these speakers anymore. these speakers pull 12+ amps, 2019 and later sprinters do not have a separate fuse for the horn. Hella advises a relay to run these speakers with heavier wiring direct to battery..

Hello Blake I was so happy to see your video and find out you are Texan. I also live in Frisco City. In the process of converting to a Sprinter, I am having a hard time installing windows because it is not easy. Since the removed steel has been reattached and covered with scotch tape, it is extremely uneasy in Texas, where the vehicle loss rate is the highest. I dare to ask if you can help me.

i installed the terrawagen mondo kit, replacing the bottom part which makes it super easy. My van didn't come with mudguards so I ordered them from Mercedes, but they don't really fit after the terrawagen install. I thought perhaps it'd possible to run them with this VC kit, but you end up with half a mudguard? It looks a bit "off" with half the mudguard cut? Or it doesn't bother you that much in real life? (perhaps video makes it look weird). Thanks for the informative video!

Hello! When adding the top 180 hinge,and after bolting to the van, I am finding that holes on the door don’t line up easily with the hinge holes. Did you have to loosen the bottom hinge bolts to give some flex in order to be able to position the top and bolt it in?

Awesome work, just to add on a bit of personal advice, be careful not to shower any adjacent paint or especially glass with hot metal shavings from the grinder, good idea to cover this all up. I learnt this mistake the hard way many years back when I used a grinder in my vehicle interior, ended up with hot metal specks melted into the glass windows..

Kilmat doesn't need that much on a floor. Just put it on some areas that are "springy" like you did on side panels. Insulation wise I think you should have looked at some better info to solve that.
@rb_advantures13922 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, and thanks for the input. We researched many different configurations for the floor, and this was our favorite. The Kilmat made a HUGE difference in the road noise, and I would do it the same way again if I had to do it over. Sara and Alex James over at Custom Crafted Vans do it this way, and have been in the game for a long time. Good luck with your van build.

great video, thank you for sharing. I wanted to point out that the upper bolt of the top hinge as well as the 2 of the bottom one (van side) require an E10 socket (a male TORX socket). a 5/16 or 8mm HEX does fit but is not the 100% correct tool. Given the cost of the hinges (and the price of the van), spending another $10 on a socket sounds reasonable :-)
