Alex shoots with a Leica M240. You guys should watch that Frame series by this Korean network to see how he shoots.

I only yesterday learned of Herman's death (04/22/23 - three years after his death). I bought a copy of The New Yorkers at Sugartown and Spoonbill in Williamsburg at the time of its release. As well as the photography, I loved the essay he wrote in the book. Sadly, I had found his Instagram account on March 29, 2020 (9 days after his death) and wrote him a lengthy message expressing how much his work meant to me at a time of loneliness and uncertainty. It's so sad knowing if I had written him 9 days earlier, MAYBE that would've...helped him? To let him know that he connected with at least one person and helped me through his art, and his expression brought me to a better place. RIP, Robert. You deserve the solace and happiness this life couldn't bring you.

Really NICE, man! When you get that large format mimic camera made, I would love to see you do a series of photos in the style Sudek or Riis. Already you have enough to make coffee table books that I think folks would really enjoy. Fantastic work!

Thanks. Yeah, I'm not great with building things but I have to give that hobo camera a try. I think I'll do more of these with other series I'm working on. Figure why the heck not?

I just recently discovered Robert's amazing work on KZbin. What a terrible shock to learn of his tragic death. Thank you for sharing this video.

You're welcome. I'm glad you were able to find his work here on YT. Have you seen his stuff on Instagram? The sad thing is that Robert is one of the uncounted victims of this Covid disaster.
@johnnym28203 жыл бұрын
@@AntonioMRosario after I happened to discover his work on KZbin I immediately follwed him on Instagram. Some of his photos are reminiscent of Saul Leiter who I am also a big fan of. During those videos Robert mentioned a few times his struggles with mental illness and that's why I was so impressed with his incredible work also. So very sad that he lost that battle.

@@AntonioMRosario By "uncounted victims", do you mean he was diagnosed with it, or the timing of his death was alongside the imminent shutdown of the city and country? It was a time of great despair for all of us, so I can imagine - and remember - my own fears and uncertainty for our future.

I just saw this episode from the playlist. It's great. I have also a project. I am shooting all analog cameras people gave or borrowed me. I also have one Polaroid spectra 1200i and I was afraid to use it because I've never shoot Polaroid before and two rolls of film cost me 40 euro. But I've got inspired now. Thanks for the upload. If you want you can check my channel. I wanted to come on the Zack playlist too, but sadly I didn't. I thought I gave good content. Anyway, I am subscribed and looking forward to your future uploads.

Loved the old panorama and current footage. My WD-40 is usually a walk in the park or down by the beach. Both closed. So tomorrow I’m going to go on an extended walk around my neighborhood with my camera.

Ha! I do indeed appreciate that! Also, I have to say, in your last video and this one, I LOVE how you show the polaroid photos at the end. Not a digital slideshow, but seeing the actual photos being shared just brings a super cool element and connection to the work. Love it man!
