San Juan de Dios hospital was not founded by the Americans. It was founded by a Spanish Friar, Fray Juan Clemente, a Franciscan lay brother, in 1578. And it is the oldest hospital in the Philippines, more than 440 years old.
@migueldesanagustin229613 күн бұрын
Lapu-lapu was not a Muslim. The people of the kingdom of Cebu and Mactan were Animist. They sacrificed pig and offer the meat to the gods. Magellan and his men saw those dead pigs hanging on a bamboo altar when they went to Cebu 😏 Animism is the belief that objects, places, and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence
@JoelAmbalan-v2u12 күн бұрын
Animist?? Their talking about pre colonial period. May you talking about stone age or something before pre colonial period. hahaha you make your own history

Your tour guide has a very poor and wrong explanations lol. BALUARTE is a Spanish word which means a bulwark, a defensive wall or rampart
@HotelTravelmania13 күн бұрын
Perhaps he doesn't know how to translate it. Thanks for the correct explanation.
@migueldesanagustin229613 күн бұрын
@@HotelTravelmaniaNope. He just don’t know what the Spanish word ‘BALUARTE’ really mean. Lol. You asked him what was the old name of the Philippines, he answered Maharlika??? I bet, he doesn’t know what Maharlika really means 😂😂
@JoelAmbalan-v2u12 күн бұрын
He already said bulwark. Intramuros is a pentagonal shape meaning 5 sides so every side of the wall have baluarte. Or defence part of the wall out side. or garrison or bastions.
@JoelAmbalan-v2u12 күн бұрын
The tour guide already said the meaning of maharlika (freedom) but you don't know the meaning of baluarte. All you know is bulwark.
@migueldesanagustin229613 күн бұрын
There was no old name of the precolonial Philippines because during those times, the islands of the Philippines was divided into different states and kingdoms including the kingdom of Maynila (Manila) which Rajah Muda Soliman III was the last true king of Manila. The “maharlika or maharlikan” was just a hoax. There is a word maharlika exist during precolonial times. They were the free people in the warrior clans. The word ‘maharlika’ came from the Malay word ‘merdeka’ which means “independent” or “free”

Fenghuang to Changsha or Zhangjiajie to Furong route? Is your trip more than 2 weeks away? One of my train has transit as well.
