About history, I think it's important to clarify that Victor Hasselblad himself i s quoted and recorded (the interview is available on KZbin) saying that NASA-Hasselblad collaboration was not a commercial deal of any kind. NASA never chose any camera, the austronauts were free to choose (given weight and encumbrance limits, of course), and Hasselblad only found out about their cameras being in space after mission was completed.

Really interesting film, thank you for posting 😀. I'm just starting out in Sports photography, shooting my local team Royston Town as an amateur picking up tips and advice from their official club photographer Kev. I absolutely love it, and you certainly do learn something new every day !. Keep up the great work, and good luck to Cambridge Utd for the rest of the season.

An hour is too long for me and I do not need a background , or such “filling” of time . I have two models of Hasselblad and thinking of upgrading so all I want is what this was supposed to be about - a comparison and evaluation of the two models . These two cameras !

I see reports of a high res full frame Foveon sensor on the way. I hope they finish it, and couple it with a body big enough to hold properly (e.g. Hasselblad X2), a proper built-in viewfinder, more physical controls so I don't have to waste time in menus, proper battery size, and a selection of mounts. I have two Merill models from 10 years ago, and while the lenses are excellent and the Foveon results are almost film-like, the ergonomics are a disaster because it's just not usable outdoors on anything but a gray day.

My lens of choice on my Hasselblad’s has always been 150mm is made a lot of my images published get around the world, I had one of the camera’s drop into a lagoon in Hawaii and I still use that camera today it’s a total workhorse! The camera of a professional photographer!

The 907 is the most beautiful body out there right now, BUT the available lenses for it really do not match the perfect design. They should look rest too, maybe with aperture ring, proper real focus ring...

Very helpful. Digital back for my 500 CM. Can’t wait!
@dietmarwenzel27462 жыл бұрын
I brought an XI DII 10 month ago. I habe a lot of lenses originally for the 500CM. They all work perfectly with the XI DII The only thing is, that you have to work with a tripod because the scantime for the sensor is 300/1000 sec. If you move, if the model moves, no chance to get a really sharp picture. So, you have to invest in "modern" lenses, created for the digital body. If you came to that point, it is a very short step to the 907. I am owner of a SWC too, and i am sure it will match perfectly.

For a photog with 500 EL/M, 503 CW, and 903 SWC and a variety of Zeiss CF… lenses, the 907 is quite welcome! However, I was disappointed to learn that the CF lenses must abandon their copal shutters and are forced to use the electronic shutter. The detractors are that, the price, and the imager, which obviously would be more welcomed with a 6cm square sensor!
@Edgy012 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for a clear, fairly concise explanation for a guy with a 500 EL/M, 503 CW, and 903SWC and variety of Zeiss CF… lenses. Only negative (other than the price and reduction from 6cm square imager) appears to be the requirement to abandon the CF lens’ shutters, mandatory need to go to the electronic shutter. Any chance someday we will see a square, full 2-1/4” imager? I had to ask!

Thank you for this great introduction. I would like to see a comparision, called "The horizontal 90 degree challenge". Take the bodies X1D with the 21mm and H6D and with the 24mm on architectal pattern, for example a hallway or a crossway in a church and show the people how much horizontal angle of view you can see of the left and the right side of a wall inside a buildung to cover.
