A lot of wind and road noise for a "luxury" sedan
@FahvergnugenRS511 күн бұрын
@ArthropodSpidey It's extremely difficult to judge speed in these videos. In theory, the car could be going 170 KPH, which would create a lot of wind noise. Additionally, since it's an RS5, there's very little sound deadening, and it's equipped with louder winter tires. I have placed the mics low in the vehicle, partly to capture the exhaust noise and engine noise. The downside is that this setup also picks up more road noise. Overall, I don't notice road or wind noise while driving. I'm very happy with the RS5!
@ArthropodSpidey11 күн бұрын
@FahvergnugenRS5 very defensive response lol. I was just making an observation.
@FahvergnugenRS511 күн бұрын
@@ArthropodSpideyI was taken aback when I read it, given that the RS5 wind noise is rated better than comparable BMW, Mercedes, etc. Your volume could also be playing a factor. I listen to these videos louder than the car sounds in person, so everything is more noisy when I do so. Thank you for watching!
@ArthropodSpidey11 күн бұрын
@@FahvergnugenRS5 if you want to be a good content creator, learn how to separate the criticism from people just making comments and observations. Not everything is a personal attack and not everything reflects on you or your choices. It does sound very noisy in the video. That's all.

@FahvergnugenRS512 күн бұрын
@@MarchedYeti96 Where I live, yes, there are only about a dozen current-generation RS5s for sale in all of Canada, so they can be rare depending on your location. A lot of kids come up and ask to take pictures. Teenagers usually say something if they are next to me at a red light. I'm not a massive fan of the attention in person, but seeing people's reactions when they spot the car is nice. For many, it's the first RS5 they've seen in person. Occasionally, I'll notice someone has taken a picture of my car while I’m driving, and they post it on local car spotting pages. That surprised me; I didn't expect it to attract that level of attention, but car enthusiasts seem to love RS cars. Thank you for watching!

@FahvergnugenRS512 күн бұрын
@ I’ve owned a current-generation S5, and it was an excellent car. The engine in the S5 is different from that of the RS5. Honestly, I loved the aggressive look of the RS5, which is why I decided to buy it. However, the S5 is more than sufficient as a daily driver. Both cars drive similarly and offer comparable speed. There are some great deals on used current-generation S5s right now. If you’re considering buying used, make sure to look for models with an Audi warranty, such as an Audi Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle. Keep in mind that everything related to S and RS cars tends to be costly. Hope it works, thank you for watching!
@Drifter1890311 күн бұрын
@@FahvergnugenRS5I would not be able to talk myself into upgrading to an RS5 from the S5 lol. I could not even take the S5 to its limits, the fastest I have ever gone before slowing down due to getting scared is like 200km/h, and even an A5 can handle that very well. So I think I will be sticking with the S and not upgrade.

Very hard choice TBH. For me it's the RS3 because 5-Cylinder sound but RS5 is also a great choice.
@FahvergnugenRS512 күн бұрын
@@VonB3 The RS5 is definitely the right choice. It’s a much nicer and better-built car. If you’re considering buying used, make sure to get a current generation model with a warranty, such as an Audi Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle. Keep in mind that everything on RS cars can be quite expensive. Personally, I would choose a Golf R over an RS3; they are virtually the same car, but the Golf R is significantly cheaper. I hope this information helps!
@FahvergnugenRS512 күн бұрын

@slonkijippie12 күн бұрын
@@FahvergnugenRS5 The Golf R and the RS3 are not "Very similar". I would agree with that they are somewhat similar, but absolutely not very similar. The RS3 is available as a sedan and obviously the engine is a huge difference between the cars.
@FahvergnugenRS512 күн бұрын
@ They are both on the same platform. The interior of the RS3 is much closer to that of the Golf R than it is to the RS5. Both vehicles are similar in size and feature comparable materials. In Europe, the RS3 is available as a hatchback. I love the Golf R and have considered getting one a few times; I think it's a great deal price-wise. In Europe, it costs around $20,000 more. The Golf R is significantly cheaper in Canada for the same car. I also like the RS3; it drives really well and is very fast.

Someone has summer tires on still. While I love this interior much more than the previous gen, dear god I miss that NA v8 revving to 8.5k. I've been looking to get a ~2015 as they can be had for fairly cheap these days(compared to new) but most of them I've seen have like 150k+ miles. The one that had sub 100 sold within like 24 hours before I could go see it. We never got the RS4(4 door RS5) in Canada or I'd be going for that. @FahvergnugenRS520 күн бұрын
@@simonsu4360 It’s actually just a tripod in the back with the camera on top. I have camera stabilization turned off; it was worse with it on. I initially tried a suction cup mount, but it was too jittery. I’m using one mic pointed forward and one pointing rear for audio. Audio is slightly mastered to reduce road noise and vibrations. My RS5 has adaptive dampers. Around town, I run comfort suspension. If I know the road and there are no bumps on backroads, I’m in the middle setting. I rarely use the stiffest setting as it’s very bumpy, even on smooth roads. Thank you for watching!

@FahvergnugenRS5Ай бұрын
@ethanhund Some people wait thirty seconds to a minute, but In my opinion, it’s more effective to drive gently for the first few minutes, keeping the RPMs low until the engine and fluids reach optimal operating temperatures. I avoid heavy acceleration and high RPMs until the engine is fully warmed up. Audi makes this easy as the car won’t let you shift fast, etc., until the car is warm.
