Hopefully you can offer some advice. I have had sciatica on and off for 6 years. This episode is 5 months in and im unable to stand straight at all and cannot walk more than 5 minutes without hours of excruciating pain. Ive been on meds, and been sent to physiotherapy... again for the 5th time. Its making it worse ans the exercises suggested i am of course unable to perform. The NHS seems to be doibg everything to avoid surgery but why? Who should i consult and how should i approach healthcare professionals to consider it?

To sit there and say this about a customer is ridiculous. Unless you’ve had chronic back pain for multiple years, then you will never understand how hideous it is. Zero joy in life. And then too be £1100 down and still have chronic pain with no improvement is just soul crushing.

Its such a simple device. Just some straps and a pulling mechanism. You can buy a table that includes everything from china for less the $100. The straps are a pita to setup, and its manually controlled with a crank, but the saving was worth it...

Este tratamiento lo tome en mi país Colombia, en Bogotá - en la clinica Spina Colombia, fue lo mejor que pude haber hecho, tenia 1 hernia discal L5-S1 + 3 discos de la columna deshidratados, tengo 31 años y me trate hace 2 años. la resonancia magnetica a los 6 meses demostro que ya no tenia nada de esto, la hernia fue reabsorvida (dieta alta en colageno y mucha agua) ya estoy haciendo gimnasio con pesos, volví a tener una vida normal. si me hubiera operado quizá no estuviera contando esto.

When I was lying on the bed (spinal decompression machine) for around 30 mins, they set the level as per my body weight, it felt so easy and nice, but once it was done, I couldn't even sit or get up, it took me few stretches to get back up on my feet, my lower back - the primary cause I went to Physio, felt so stiff. Is this normal or it was just me? should I continue with it? I feared that I might have screwed my back further!!!!!

I imagine some discomfort is normal. Pain is part of the healing process. Your body had adjusted over time to compensate for your injury and then that changed pretty suddenly, which can cause pain as things normalize again. How do you feel now?

Too late for me. I wish I had know about this. Exhausted all options known. Having surgery in two weeks. Laminectomy-Lumbar L4-L5. Herniated disc on sciatic nerve. Six months plus of suffering until surgery was scheduled. I wish I had learned about this sooner. This was never mentioned as an option.

So why doesn't my primary care physician know this? Why doesn't my spine specialist know this? Why doesn't my chiropractor know this? None of these doctors ever mentioned this treatment to me. The US health system SUCKS. Most of the time I think my doctor's are QUACKS when it comes to my back pain. 3 of my disc are bulging and my quack doctors for the past 5 years has no clue on how to help me, they keep sending me in CIRCLES!

This is the truth. Depending on the severity of the back problem, you may have to go several times. It is a safe process. My wife has just completed 9 sessions and is completely pain free. She previously was admitted to the hospital because her spinal stenosis and herniated disc was so bad that she couldn't walk. The hospital did nothing but relieve her pain while she was there, sent her home, and she was assigned a pain management doctor. She then had 2 epidurals each 2 weeks apart. No improvement. After 2 months of constant pain, she happened to see an advertisement for the Disc Centers of America. After 3 weeks of treatment (going 3 times a week) she is pain free.
