Jamie did NOT deserve to win for her performance in EEAAO. She was awesome but it was not an "Oscar Worthy" performance. This award was more of an ensemble award for the actors in the film. I felt that Stephanie had a more deserving performance than Jamie did. But given Jamie's tenure in the industry, it was their moment to reward her for her years of acting while at the same time heaping loads of praise on a brilliant movie. This was not about her performance. It was a combination of factors that resulted in Jamie winning. It was more about the entire movie itself than it was about Jamie's individual contribution to it.

That film was so daft and weird, but Stephanie fully deserved that Oscar not Jamie. Oh well. To be clear IMO Jamie has done other roles far more deserving of an Oscar.

Christopher Guest didn't seem the least bit surprised. They make a great pair. Would love to see them on the screen together or her in a movie he wrote and directed. He has also been underappreciated.
