Thank you so much for explaining what this is and how to use it. At first, I was hoping that this was an additional 24 user signals, but alas, no one for seeable use is crowd mics. I have two crowd mics on my stage one on the AES 50 a side and one on the AES 50 B side, this would at least allow me to put them as a left and right pair so I guess that’s useful. I will say that something that makes me very frustrated on the wing is the lack of direct channels or what they call user signal. On the Behringer 32 we had up to 40 direct out from channels that you could select various tap points, apparently on the wing you only have 24 which seems very surprising to me. This is the one area where the 32 outshines the wing.

I’ve been trying to reset my wing to factory settings using the initialise function but whenever I power on the mixer it loads my previous setup. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Some of the channels that already had the compact and rack are not near as experienced as you. One guy doesn't even have any technical concept of how simple things work and is more in the armature level but yet he gets gear and you do not? Makes no since.

The RE20. It was mu go to kick mic since the 80's. Don't use it live much anymore but still have used it for recordings. Awesome kick mic that not alot of newer engineers even know about.

25:42 - In firmware versions prior to 3.0, it was possible to assign any channel to talkback, rather than selecting a preset channel via the mixer settings.

To modernize your 'grey' wing, you could try to find someone who could create a vinyl wrapping ( sticker) to overlay the wing control surface. The dimensional drawing is available for download, only the text is missing. I'm thinking about using the midas blue color for that to create a 'Ming' 🤔

I have a Mac hooked up to the wing for live streaming our church service. I added reaper. So I setup 48/48. Reaper is working fine, recording multiple tracks. How do I separate my live stream mix to be the only two tracks feeding my live stream? Right now, they’re all feeding the live streaming so they are comb filtering each other.

I have a few lyx pro boxes and can get guitar and dynamic mics to run just fine over them but for some reason my Behringer C-2 condenser mics will not run properly over them. I plug them back into my straight xls runs and they are fine... any ideas on my problem?

Dope if they come out with a Midas version. It wouldn’t make sense to keep the same preamp count. It should be at least 64 channels. At least. Coming out with an 48 just like the wing makes no sense at this point. You gotta have the differences unless ppl just gonna buy the wing. The wing is a really great console so they have no choice but to come out with a better option!

so if i get it right you can actually use S16/32 or DL16/32 stage boxes with the HD96 native just using AES50? thats good info for someone who have some of those and want to move from X32/M32 and do not want to change every single thing at the same time

It's not recommended, it's required to use SHIELDED cables, as the shield is the ground. XLR and DMX won't work properly as they require ground cable to be present.

Today I update my firmware from 2.1 to 1.08.1 because in 2.1 I got a issues with the routing section because I can't connect from source to channels. Thank you for the coupon code! Just scooped up a pair of the KZ A16’s for 30$. I have several pair of the kz pros and a couple pair of the zx10 pros as a backup in my bass and guitar cases. I’m a shure 535 guy but it’s too expensive to buy them 5-6 times to keep in my different cases. I play enough that I grab a different instrument from night to night and like to have multiple pair in every case. In only takes one or two times of showing up to a show out of town and realizing you forgot to remove your in ears from the case you used last night before you just bite the bullet and put them in every case you own.

Playing with one in ear monitor csn cause early problems of deafness. This os due to the off balance of information and people tend to send the signal higher to compensate when they have one ear in. If he needs atmosphere feedback, crowd mics are best. You did however provide a good solution
