What if there is no blessed mother, just an excruciating self induced and deliberate state of denial that it was not happenning. And knowing quite clearly that it was happenning - but not. And besides you don't have a phenomological vocab to tell your self what is happening.

listen to question and answer in 58:30, that's called transgenerational epigenetics, we do in fact inherit trauma through molecular epigenetic mechanism

Thank you for this, Dr. Kalsched. Both parts have been of immense help to me. It is 2017 now, and collective American developmental trauma has reached such a tipping point as to have produced a voting public (and a party affiliation) fully incapable of recognizing pathological gaslighting even in the face of repeated and proven abuse to its own constituents. It has been tragic, alarming, and riveting to watch as it unfolds. Language and subjects have entered the national (and international) conversation that daily create an ever expanding gash in American dignity and reputation, yet the pater culpabilis is defended by those he would abuse. I would love to hear you speak about it.

Thank you for this. Have been reading Bollas' book, The Shadow of the Object-Psychoanalysis of the Unthought Known, and am gratified to find another clinician giving thoughtful recognition of and insightful attention to this so confusing developmental architecture.
