Down town had some water damage from a high water event, a few trees and mild slides/sink holes locally but really Bryson was spared. We were very fortunate.

The bass are schooling on shad. So pay attention to the bait!!! They should all be moving towards the shallows of Creek and river mouths. I'd hit those areas first. Make sure you fish morning and evening for your best chance at top water.

You are gonna be staying on a great creek! Fish Alarka! The creek there will be open on the first saturday in April for fishing. So take advantage of your great timing! Also try the nantahala river and the tuckaseegee in Bryson and Dillsboro!

I stopped by the fly shop in Bryson City they sent me to a little stream just outside Robbinsville where I caught the largest brown trout I ever caught!!!!!

@@matthewvazquez5234 the town is building a picnic pavilion. There are also some riverbank restoration projects that are being done. It should open back up when they get done in a few months.

Love your videos, I just left the Almond area. My wife and I house sit for some friends several times a year and I watched your videos to learn more about the area. I fished the lower parts of Deep Creek on Thursday and got my PB brown trout.

@@joshamick3371 the dry fly game is still on. It has been a little tougher due to low clear flows, but it may pick up a bit after the rain this week. Should be good though.

I may try Deep Creek again this week and I am really tempted by Alarka Creek; up until now I have been scared of getting in trouble for being somewhere I shouldn't be. The real problem I have is that I have to work while in town, so I am stuck behind a laptop most of the day. I have to say man, I love your videos, I am learning a lot about fly fishing and how to approach the water around BC.

For sure you can do that with smaller poppers. You will have your world rocked if you catch a bass bigger than 2 lbs though.

It can be. I haven't fished it for smallies in a few years. I usually fish the little t for them. Little less of an "urban-fly fishing experience" there.

Yes. Started just below the dam. Very small portage trail there. A small raft is needed, no way to get a trailer to it.

@@TheDEEZY Thanks for the reply! I thought so, especially when I saw the cows. That is my favorite stretch to drift. I have a 10' Scadden raft, 50 pounds, we put in at the dam and fish down to the 28 bridge. Nice 4 hour drift, gets no pressure, easy rowing and less intimidating than down river by Needmore (I wade there),
