Simon. Do you have a curved end (for hollowing neck of piece) flat 8mm tool?

I’m planning to swap my lower range lathe for something like that. How does that compare to coronet regent from record power? Record Power lathes seem to be pretty well covered on the various tests whereas DrechselMeister, Twitter, or Stratos lines have just few reviews.mostly in German

Hi Simon. I love the machine but still waiting on part of my order from last July. Is there any “hope” of receiving the remaining items plus a replacement for a part that was broken on delivery? Thanks!

Nice lathes but the price went up way to much in the last decade: they went from a good deal for a middle class lathe to nearly the pricerange of a Zebrano or a Oneway which in my opinion are much better equipped . you can feel it in the smoothness of the pinole, the quality of the banjo, the bearings and the hardened support.

Suggest you stay well clear of this company. The owner Simon Hope is arrogant and unprofessional. I ordered a lathe from him and he refused to honour the order because of access problems to the property. He cancelled the order without discussion, and was extremely unpleasant on the phone. I will never deal with him again.

Mr Shaunak insisted on a delivery by Wednesday or his money back, we couldn't sort a delivery by then because of access issues. We therefore made a full refund as he requested so the refund was meeting his demands and was not initiated by us. What followed was a barrage of abusive comments and mention of death! His version of events is a complete fabrication. We do have a complete transcript of the texts from him, but they would need so much censoring before posting it wouldn't be worthwhile.

I seriously considering buying this lathe later in the year. As I turn a lot of multi axis spindle work either 2 or 3 axis I'm wondering if this lathe will be stable enough at fast speeds bolted to a heavy bench. My current lathe (a CL1) shakes itself to bits if I turn the speed up.

I opted for the Baxter jig. Two main reasons. One was years with the Bonnie Klein jig. The other was that it goes onto the lathe spot on in line/square to the lathe bed. Also, I learned the hard way that if I make a box the size of the one you make here, it can and will move enough so that you won't be able to get the lid off.

I absolutely love mine! Great to see your video of it. Definitely glad I got this and not the RP Herald or the Laguna Revo 12/16. It is such a reliable little workhorse and it doesn't feel like anything has been compromised to make it a midi. I certainly haven't had to make a compromise based on my requirements. I've had it for a year and three months now, and it is a pleasure to work with.

Is it possible to add an extension also to the headstock end therefore lengthening the lathe a further 400mm? or is it not advised, by Stratos. Seriously looking at this lathe so would be interested in your comment.
@theschaaf
@theschaaf 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Uli, there is no possibility to more mm to the headstock. But you can use a bead extension at the stand. When you swivel the head then, you can get much more mm

Just wondering, would it be more conviennent to have a lathe that has three pullies like the Midi Pro or two like the FU 180. Am guessing two because one needs to change less often. Would that be correct?

That fast pully goes from 150 - 3700. I onwed this lathe by myself and used 90% of time thge fast pulle. So need for changig the bully very often ;)
