Which bike shop had the shuttle? I'd like to ride the Flume in a few weeks.
@CraigandHollyonWheelsАй бұрын
We used flumetrailtahoe.com/ and they were great - they have a small parking lot as well, up behind the cafe, or there's pay parking out beside the road. Note that if you want to tack on some of the Tahoe Ridge Trail, it's open to bikes only on even days of the month. Enjoy the ride!

This was 21 May. Yes the amount of traffic was nice - had to wait once in awhile when meeting other hikers, but always in a safe spot.

What an insane hike!!! WOW. keep the videos coming, they're great. I've gotta know, was coming down more intense than going up? sure looked like it. Looked like fun too.
@CraigandHollyonWheelsАй бұрын
Indeed, going down was the more intense half as you were generally staring waaayyy down... the 6:45 mark especially! But also great fun :-)

I wish ioverlander coverage was as good up here in Ottawa as it is in the US. killer mountain biking views!
@CraigandHollyonWheels2 ай бұрын
It really varies by state it seems - Utah was great, California much tighter it seemed. We've had some luck finding Walmarts etc with iOverlander in Canada, but indeed they can be few and far between. Glad you enjoyed the views!😊

Loved watching these trails knowing full well I’d never do them. 😂 Those white dots on the trail…I’m guessing that’s how you know how to follow it. But who maintains them? They must fade over time. That was our big question from this episode. Loved all of it so far!
@CraigandHollyonWheels2 ай бұрын
Yes, I lost the white dot trail once or twice and soon ended up stuck pretty quick. Trails in this area are maintained by the local trail alliance (tasutah.org/). Thanks for asking this, it reminded us to go back and make a donation... to keep some paint in their bucket 😊

Wondering the same but it might be in the title. = Slot Canyon??? So I go to google earth & type in Slot Canyon. Lots of slots listed between Moab & Capital Reef! In fact, if one is in good enough shape to climb & does an extensive search in Google Earth, Hiking & photography options are numerous. Probably slots existing that aren't even listed on Google Earth. Local knowledge would come in handy there.

Sorry about that, I may have mumbled it at best :-) This was Little Wild Horse Canyon. We did it as an out-and-back and didn't hike the entire loop, but here's some more info: www.alltrails.com/trail/us/utah/little-wild-horse-bell-canyon-trail I see that recent reviews from June / July mention it being knee or waist deep with water - glad we hit it when we did!

We heard it got toasty there! We're still getting used to the elevation changes here - we were at Death Valley (-200 feet) a couple weeks back at 42 Celsius, and then 2 nights ago near Yosemite (9200 feet) it was almost down to freezing!

Craig, did you find anything with the metal detector? Holly, I'm interested in how you attach the bike box on the back of your van, is that hitch-mounted? Class 1 or 2 probably? Any complaints about availability of water and dumping? Any equipment improvements that you would like to share? Great series, btw, I'm hanging on every word. I'm also trying to get Bonnie interested in this so... keep up the good work! 8-D
@CraigandHollyonWheels4 ай бұрын
Hey sorry for the slow reply! No big finds with the metal detector just yet :-) Our bike box gets a lot of attention from fellow travelers, too - It's a "Komo" brand box from a manufacturer near Montreal. It's on a 2" hitch, also equipped with a swing-away adapter so we can open the back doors of the van, where we keep the BBQ and other supplies. We can show you a bit more of that in a future episode. Likewise, great questions about water and dumping - no problems so far with that. We can go about 4 days without having to dump or refill the fresh water. When we stay at parks there's usually a dump station, and if we're boondocking for several days we sometimes pay around $10 to dump and fill up. We use an app called iOverlander (free, check it out!) to find dump stations and free places to camp, it's really helpful. We'll talk more about our favourite apps in a future episode too. Glad to hear you're enjoying our channel and look forward to keeping in touch :-)
