I enjoyed all you said and using those items. I had never been a teacher, but now teaching Sunday school and I can’t really have all that at school, but I use most of those at home. I do most of everything at home , for their projects, it’s different. Because I have different age students, from 6 yrs to 12 yrs. But I do my best . What is the best markers to with the kids that is not easy to dry out

I recently went back to teaching part time in a preschool and the previous teacher was teaching the 3 year old class to write their names in lowercase letters. I have 16 years of teaching experience in a preschool and always taught the preschoolers to write their names in uppercase. Thank you for your video explaining why this is important. Is 2 months too late to introduce carpet tiles for kids? My 4s have some previous experience with them, but the 3s do not. I tried it for one day, and it really stressed me out and took up time. But my classroom already had them.

I've definitely been seeing how the traditional calendar for 3 and 4 year olds doesn't work too well. While it's nice to review these concepts, it's such a time sucker and I end up breezing through it to get to essential learning and skills. If I'm still in PreK next contract year, I'm 100% using linear calendar if I can find the wall space.

I am 63, and I still remember circle time in kindergarten to this day. Thank you for all you do with the kids of our great nation.

For a mixed age kindergarten (3-6) would you cater to the middle or younger kiddo's in regards to time?

I'm struggling with my prek kiddos as a first year teacher. I don't have them 5 days a week, and only for half a day. Then, in the afternoon, I get a daycare watch. So my Cozy Corner never came to fruition, and I feel like my own SE skills are out of par. It really stinks bc it's like 10 weeks into the year. 😞 so idk what to do. Thank you for this. I hope i can implement some strategies and then for next year actually have a proper area.

Isnt really 3 too early for pre k. All the crying for mom . I really dont belive what i am doing now. Why the torture the kids to learn that early yet still so many problems elementary students . 3 is too young for pre k .

I am a new teacher at a headstart. How do I organize my things so as not to have paper, and counters a mess

I give my kids a two-minute warning that we will have to finish our work soon (play is their work), and then I turn off the music when it’s time to clean. My kids clean up super fast because we have a dance party afterward (a.k.a music and movement) and the bestest, fastest, safest cleaners get to pick the “dance party” songs (I rotate through the kids but they don’t know that). My littles clean up lightening fast because they all want to get picked first.

This is my first year as a teacher (former assistant teacher) and I have a lot of young three and four year olds and our circle time is very short because they just cannot sit that long! We have a lot of play time and just try to enjoy each moment. They are a very active bunch, so I use a lot of interactive activities to keep them engaged,

I do mostly process art in my classroom, but I also feel like there is value in mixing in some product art because it helps teach prepositions (this goes on the top, this goes in the middle, and this goes on the bottom). I show the kids a sample and then let them go rogue with how they decide to put their craft together, and the end results are super cute.

Love your circle time ideas. I use a puppet, songs and interaction too.
