Went to Lockman in '92 when we lived in Royal Oak for a short spell. I remember the school looked ancient then. Not surprised they demolished it.

ghetto espresso! mmmmm, deeeeeeelicious! by the way, there's no need for you to tamp your grounds with all that pressure. In fact, it's better for you to do a light tamp only solely ffor the purpose of leveling off the top. Your machine is designed to self tamp with the pressure filter. By tamping it hard yourself, you're actually preventing a good seal. Just level off the top with a light tamp. Then when you lock the portafilter into place, it's automatically tamping it down even more and creating a good seal. That's why it's harder to lock a portafilter on a Mr. Coffee machine than it is on the higher priced machines that don't use pressurized filters.

That was one of the worst videos ever made. Do you seriously not have someone to help you hold the camera steady (or a steady surface ) and someone who can keep it in focus (could be the same person)? I felt like you put a go pro on a chihuahuas head and filmed this with dog in arms. Do over!

@Gangway1111 Well, it still needs a correct grind, nothing will change that. Pressurized PFs will make fake crema. I modified my old PF to depressurize it so that I could actually see what I was doing. Once done, I made 1/2 way espresso, but never got to the real thing. I was using a hand mill capable of espresso grind. I have used this Bodum grinder as well.
@renix3968
@renix3968 12 жыл бұрын
I started on a similar machine, I can tell you that's a pretty bad shot. I didn't think those new Bodum grinders were espresso capable and have yet to be shown that they are. Common knowledge is that electronic espresso-capable grinders run about $400 at the bottom end, and hand mills that are espresso capable run about $100. Cheaper burr grinders like this one are great for drip but perhaps not for espresso.
