The clevis drawbar on them tractors is absolutely not designed to carry that much tongue weight. That size load on the road could easily start rocking forwards and backwards, and the hitch is the part that will be the first to break. Hook hitch every time for those loads.

@bridgefarmer7 жыл бұрын
Hi thankyou, yes it is 40Kph. The david brown 995 is a good tractor for round the yard, very small turning circle and low down for smaller sheds. Just abit slow for going very far on the road.

Nice traktor! I have one question.. What is the splitter or tortoise/hare doing and how does it work? I have a Case 4230 and have never figured it out yet what that button is there for :)
@bridgefarmer7 жыл бұрын
sorry for very later reply, its really simple you literally just press that orange button to speed up/ slow down (hence tortoise / hare). You can just press it as you're driving along.

hi thanks, it will have been around 30 years old but it still did the job however we sold it earlier this year and bought the new holland 650 as it has a wider pickup reel as when your following a combine with that farmhand it was sometimes only just wide enough

great to hear, just got one for my old 990, what type of baler was used to make the silage bales, newer balers can make bales a lot heavier ,its probably hayledge you have rather than silage, a lighter bale, great vid,

Yes, it is haylage really so will be a bit lighter than silage would be but that tractor has lifted heavy silage bales before not a problem but if you're moving quite a few you want a weight on the back or it will get a bit messy. They were baled with the new Holland 650 baler. You can see them baled in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6qzlmSOacd7mas
