You saw just a hint of Dark Willow to come when she was talking to Tara’s father. That gritted teeth” I know!” translates to “ IM TALKING BACK UP OFF ME!!”

I like the part were at first Spike says he doesn't care but when he hears Anya about bad and good demons " just narrow it" the way Spike grins knowing how to find out if there is a demon or not. He might not care like he said at first, but here kind of shows the human he was. He felt like confrontating someone, & he gave a big punch to the whole family legend

I love how, when Tara's brother threatens to hurt her, Xander threatens to hurt him. Xander is the big brother of the group.
@foxywoxy0w0682 ай бұрын
What I find ironic about this is that because Buffy and the gang and both human and used to the supernatural, they would end up thinking that Tara COULD become a demon and yet it is Spike, a vampire, who figures out that Tara won't become a demon and that it is all the result of fear mongering. It's really clever how this scene is done.

You say blood kin, not family. So even you know you aren't family. As for Spike, if things came to blows, he's going in. Without a doubt. He said he didn't but did something anyway. What form his action took depended on how it went.

While it is true that Tara might still be alive if she went with her blood kin, she would be a slave and not really living.

I always find it odd that Tara's father watches Buffy LITERALLY curb-stomp a demon, and then tries to intimidate her. But then, that kind of malignant narcissism, I guess it makes sense.

Tara’s family: A witch, an ex-demon, a vampire who later got his soul back, a vampire slayer, a dude who’s been in more supernatural situations than all these people combined, and don’t forget the slayer’s watcher, and an energy orb-turned-human.

Ironic isn’t it that later Tara was killed! If she had gone with her family she’d probably still be alive. Yet I think even if she had known she would have stayed anyways

I'm surprised that none of the gang, having learned about the deception these a-holes pull on "their" women, didn't offer Beth (Amy Adamsss's''ss's character) a way out too, considering she was just as abused/controlled.

such a missed opportunity to have a bit more of a tara-appreciates-spike friendship though. Spike picked up on something that nobody else did and he was the only one to demonstrate what was wrong immediately without Tara's family having any chance to weasel out of it.

The sad part is that had Tara gone with her "blood kin," she would still be alive. Miserable, but alive.

I just like to think how confused Tara's family was about Spike hitting Tara and screaming, because of course they have no idea he's a vampire with a chip in his head from a secret government initiative. So the Scoobies are 100% certain Tara is not a demon while Tara's family is lie "wait what...?"

I don’t think Tara has a sister … only her brother Donnie, and the woman depicted in this scene is her cousin Beth.

I see far too many people saying Spike cares because he hurt himself to prove Tara wasn't a demon. Spike is a vapid, attention seeking narcissist. To him, a few seconds of intense pain was well worth being able to say (without actually saying it) "hey, look at this thing I was able to figure out before anyone else".
@johnwang99149 ай бұрын
Well, the punch from Spike proved she isn't a demon to us the viewers and to the scoobie gang but her family wouldn't of known what that was all about and would've just continued pushing to take Tara with them. I would've expected Spike to have to show his demon face to really cow those maggots or for Willow to do something to them with magic or for Buffy to throw one of them into the wall.
