as a teenager in 90's Scotland, Country wasn't cool, but my dad liked Don Williams and Slim Whitman and my Mum liked Patsy Cline,,, and I knew every word to every one of their songs,, hardly anybody in Scotland had ever heard of Garth Brooks, then this one time the quietest one of our (only) 4 TV ,,channels, BBC2 I think it was, played a Garth Brooks concert at like 2am one night, "this guy sells more concert tickets in America than Madonna" I was lucky to have taped it on VHS,, needles to say I loved it and played it over and over,, when in my late teens my friends would mock me for my weird tastes in music,, but one friend in my "dorm" was sad because his girlfriend had dumped him,, " can I borrow your Garth Brooks CD's?" I then knew it was cool not to follow other music trends and to listen to what makes you feel good,, Garth is fantastic,,, I'm 45 now and I wish Chris Stapleton would come to Scotland and do a gig!!! nobody listens to the bands that were cool in the 90's anymore,, Except maybe the Stone Roses,, Ashley McBride is coming over soon,
