Good homily. But, why quote Martin Luther? There are many Saints that could have been quoted. Luther was a heretic.

Sorry but I'm having trouble with parts of your sermon. Nowhere does it say that Simeon snatched Jesus from his mother's arms. It does say that the Holy Spirit was with him so for all we know he could have extended his arms and Mary could have lovingly placed Jesus in Simeon's arms. The Bible is God's Holy Word and doesn't need any embellishments. A lot of supposing with your interpretation. Sorry.

This is what preachers are supposed to be teaching and preaching in Matthew 25:31-46, because, this is the way, Jesus is going to judge the nations... The goats didn't love Jesus, or neighbor: when I was thirsty you gave me no drink.. when I was hungry you gave me no meat.. when I was naked you clothed me not.. when I was sick or in jail you visited me not.. when I was a stranger you took me not in... The sheep loved Jesus and neighbor: when I was thirsty you gave me drink.. when I was hungry you gave me meat.. when I was naked you clothed me.. when I was sick or in jail you visited me.. when I was a stranger you took me in... If you don't love your neighbor, in whom you see, how can you love God, in whom you don't see? 1 corinthians 13, if you don't have love, you don't have nothing... We need to love God..we need to love neighbor..we need to love one another..in Jesus name

Our faith and works in Christ are inseparable. As baptized Christians, we are saved or unsaved by what we do or not do.

This passage from 1 Corinthians can be read on this day (April 15, 2014), which is Tuesday in Holy Week. Corinth: the New York City/Las Vegas of the Bible. Agree or disagree? Feel free to reply.

Great sermon - theologically and practically, caring and challenging. It is the type of preaching that is lacking in the church today. Not pandering to the zeitgeist of the day! Keep going reverend!
