Why I’m so scared of eating meat just anywhere or in general because I have no idea how that animal was treated before and how it was fed.. terrifies me how farms feed their animals their own kind especially the brains and spine matter.. I just can’t trust anything playing with life that way.

Living with a mamma with dementia 3 1/2 years. My "from the bunker assesment"....the only hope is in Jesus of Nazareth. Dementia kills 2 at the time. More funds for in home care, research has netted us squat. One could easier cure death itself. Alzheimers is here to stay, and growing rapidly.

It is still true that doctors caring for our loved ones do not provide enough compassion, understanding and information to the families of people with dementia, any dementia. I'm the kind of person that will seek out information for myself rather than continue to be disappointed. That's one of the biggest pieces of advice I can share.

In December, 2017, my oldest brother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2004. He was placed on C/L ( generic Sinemet). I have been on this medication since 2007, & told him that as long as I take my medication regularly, my symptoms are well controlled. Unfortunately, we knew it relatively quickly, that Greg's symptoms were more "severe". Hallucinations, sometimes violent, & physical deterioration was swift. It was not until his autopsy that we were given the diagnosis of Lewy Body disease. Greg was the strongest, brightest person I have ever known. It has been 6 years since his death, I am still in shock how swiftly this disease brought down the "Goliath" in our family. God bless every family that this disease traumatizes.

With all due respect, I take issue with some of this Lady’s assessment of symptoms indicating presence of Lewy body dementia, as many see images in clouds and trees, even mountains and rocks. There is a name for the phenomenon, and it is not Lewy body dementia. Folks hear noises and such, without explanation, many folk at the same time hearing loud booms or crashes, and are well adapted people not having dementia. Although the events are also present in dementia patients, there is some very strange phenomenon occurring. I also believe there is a correlation with covert and overt narcissism connected with developing LBD as many folk exhibit symptoms of all 3 at times. However, I thank the Lady for her time and effort in creating this presentation.

There is No True evidence that food & aerobic exercise. People are born with these things all these offers of cure does not stop or slow it down unless you are born in a bubble‼️ what might help be prepared for eternity! MEDICATIONS have MANY horrible side effects! Stop offering people who are always going thru a bunch of difficulty. FALSE HOPE‼️That is wrong 😑 💧💧💧

Kay Ryan’s work reminds me of my favorite children’s poet, Valerie Worth, whose “small poems” also share the “recombinant rhyme.” Worth and Ryan did not know of one another, as far as I know, but the similarities are so wonderfully present. Hoping more Ryan readers discover Worth’s amazing writing.

Recently I’ve been following a young couple who are in their late 40’s and the young man has developed LBD. He described an interesting sensation that occurs when he get so fatigued he just “zones out” he feels it start near the frontal cortex and then moved up and over his head. He then withdraws and takes a nap. He doesn’t sleep well at night also. His wife and childhood sweetheart is a nurse and so she has had to quit working to take care of him full time. Neither of them are even 50!

My Uncle has this since only 69. I asked my Dr if it can be hereditary and she said no. Then she says” if you have Dementia, that’s it”. As if to say there is no help? Sometimes Doctors can be so off putting I don’t understand them.

I must comment on your rather “hospital “ ideas that you seem to think will work at home. Dr. You seem to think that anyone can provide care for a loved one at home. Not everyone will be able to physically care for their family member. ie:/ a wife my not be able to even lift their larger husbands legs for range of motion, or turning them in bed, etc. Not to say even take care of their family member’s incontinence, whether urine or fecal. Nor can most retired couples be able to afford having care done by home care agencies. I find your advice to get emotional help from other than the Dr. Caring for the patient. Do you realize how that is very costly, and the difficulty finding time and money to do that while trying to care for their disable family members. Feeding tubes are now bad, in lieu of what starving, feeling hunger, being dehydrated. If you have clean up your family members urine and bowel movement’s, by it’s nature is not a private thing anymore. It is simply what is needed done. I think your presentation is fair enough but truly not terribly practical for most families trying to keep their family member at home. And most families cannot afford the total care costs that are charged in nursing homes.

This is such pertinent information and I want to share it with my family because my dad is in the later stages of this disease. I’m a nurse and I’ve studied palliative care and this is a wonderful collection of helpful info. The ‘um’s throughout distracted me… I get it, and I hate to be picky. AITA, yes.
