It's a beyond brilliant song but I've heard it sung much better. I met Blossom once when she was much younger. She was extremely reserved to put it mildly.

She did a sort of residency in the north stage at the Tiffany Theatre in the 80's at the same time that I was stage managing a show in the south stage. I got to see her every night for about 6 weeks and collected all of her albums which she signed for me. She was amazing.

Thank you so much for your sweet comment, yes Blossom was one of her kind, as a pianist and singer she was able to make standards sound new and belonging to her. I haven't heard anyone singing this song, which she loved, as originally or with the timing, intonation and sensibility as she did. For me, she owns the best version of it.

Wow -- the perfect marriage of interpreter and material. Blossom singing Sondheim provides hope for a world utterly bereft of hope. Yesterday, I got a canned hate email from some intellectually lazy, spiritually impoverished buffoon who "works" in the Multnomah County District Attorney's office. Listening to Blossom reminds me that such a thing as humanity once existed.

Une vidéo bouleversante. Un chanteur unique et magique. Il habite mon cœur depuis mon adolescence grâce à Julien Delli Fiori sur France Inter. Merci à lui et à FIP qui ne parle plus de lui depuis trop longtemps... Un génie de la musique.

Obrigado pelo comentário tão doce Laurent. Mark foi um amigo intimo alem de ser um gigante da musica, capaz de se apropriar de musicas conhecidas e torna-las suas, com uma sensibilidade impar, Mark era o cantor dos cantores e cantoras, que o cercavam de amor e luz.
