I never knew you had a KZbin channel until today! I recognized the scenery in your intro and only then did I realize you run my favorite Greek restaurant in my hometown of Rowlett. Thank you for the awesome recipe!

The nice thing about these boats, you can pretty much just hop in and go and figure it out. It's not all that difficult, and the stakes are quite low.

Columbia-23 owner here. Great video! I learned early on that to truly enjoy sailing, I had better become proficiant and single handing. Raymarine st1000 auto tiller is without question the best $500 you will ever spend! I had a tiller tamer that was ok but that only gives you about 20-30 seconds a pop on the foredeck before you have to re-adjust.

Had potential but 90% of these short horrors are played out because the constant build but then doing the oh boo cut to black without showing a kill. It's just unsatisfying when every short had 5-15 minutes of build up to just end on the character, characters seeing the killer, monster whatever gasping then it's over. It's extremely played out. Idk if it's low effort or thinking it's still cool but it's basically ruined KZbin short horror at this point. Not saying this to be an ass, just being honest. There was good potential, atmosphere, the concept etc but like 95% of KZbin horror shorts in the last 5 years it's just a bunch of build with no payoff.

Thank you so much for your honest feedback! This was actually my very first short film, and it’s been an incredible learning experience. A lot of my focus went into mastering the basics like lighting, audio capture, and sound design, which was a great challenge in itself. That said, I completely understand your point about the importance of delivering a satisfying payoff, and it’s something I’m eager to improve on in the future. Your input really motivates me to keep learning and growing as a filmmaker. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

@HannerXbear27 күн бұрын
Thank goodness someone actually said it. Been thinking this forever, stop cutting corners and show the kills! It's horror! And props to the creator for responding. Honestly if I were you an awesome idea and creative exercise would be to the creator this exact short as is same script, same actors etc adding in the kills. Simply add in a scene when the brunette walks outside to the car and is looking around and the killer snaps her neck and her on the ground. Immediately builds more tension when going back to the blonde girl and then during that mark at around 2:15-2:30 when she's running to the car, after she looks around have the killer pop up her look horrified, then it throat lift her, show her feet lifting off the ground etc and then it snapping her neck, her going limp, dangling there. These small add ones would be huge for this short. Everything else is extremely solid, the acting, venue, script, camera work etc. just feel hollow because there is no pay off. You probably wouldn't even need to re shoot anything else, just shoot those two scenes and add them in.

Super cheap tiller lock, super easy, is just a bit of line tied between your stanchions (or whatever) with enough slack to wrap around the tiller a few times. It will hold your tiller approximately in place.

To hands free your tiller, a pair of bungee cords work better than most tiller tamers that I've seen.
@teddblankenship72672 ай бұрын
Sheet your jib in as if you were on a beat, then "tack" but don't move the jib sheet - leave it on the "wrong side" now let your main out like you're on a broad reach, push the tiller away so the boat wants to slowly head up. That's called a heave to, and that's the move you want if you're going below to get a bottle of water. It's safe, super stable and easy to do. It works equally well in 20 knots as it does in 5 knots. Put a piece of bungee on your tiller tied from side to side and you can sail heaved to for quite some time with minimal assistance to the helm from the skipper. Have fun, be safe and put on a life jacket. Cheers! Look up heave to - it's worth it's weight in gold to know that maneuver. A beautiful way to rest after a long race...
