Does this help for groin weakness ?
@SJBequanimity

Hi 👋 Depending on what sort of injury your horse has had. I would check with your vet or physio before trying any exercises. If your horse is ready physically to work, then yes, this will help strengthen those areas. Let me know how you get on ? 😊

My whippet has had an equafleece coat for nearly 9 years and another for over 7. They are absolutely fantastic and cannot recommend them enough! Especially for sight hounds whippets/greys etc!

Ah, that's good to hear. Hugo can be a bit funny about wearing coats, but seems OK with this one 👌

@SJBEquitation Hello! Thoroughly enjoyed this video! Question - would this be a good exercise for strengthening stifle? I did watch your video on that, and it even clarified a few points of shoulder in for me, thanks!

Hi 👋 I am so happy that you found the videos useful. It's always important to consult your vet or physio before doing any of the exercises, but yes, this will also improve stifle strength 💪. I find the raised poles at walk, particularly useful for strength and coordination. Shout if you need any advice 😊

How far apart are the poles to start!
@SJBequanimity
@SJBequanimity 5 ай бұрын
@@SusanLoring-k9k The distance will vary between horses. The Rule is to encourage symmetry behind So only 1 hind leg pushes between poles if horse can take extra half step then the poles too far apart Hope this helps

Sometimes you just have to go to another vet. One vet wanted to put my pony down. I ignored them, used another vet and two years later, my pony is looking and feeling good. It's important to stick to your self belief. Cheering you and Bella on from Australia 🌏🦘

Great explanation. One th8ng I am not too keen about is how tight you hold the rope short and not giving him a chance to actually lower and stretch his neck. Forcing him to go straight is counter productive?

Thank you for your comment you are absolutely correct in what you are saying. Posture is the most important aspect, or the exercise has no benefit. The problem was it was his 1st time, and I was trying to show you what can happen, whilst explaining why he was finding it difficult, whilst also trying not fall over the poles myself. 😆 Thank you for watching

Remember to always consult your vet or physio to make sure these exercises are right for your horse. I would say little and often like physio exercises. If you can make time 3 to 4 days a week, this should help strengthen. Good luck

I was given advice one. The advice was "If a woman owners anything that has to do with horses and the word Equine is in the name" Run!! Run as fast as possible. LOL. The funny part is that advice has proven to be true.

Hi, can you please help me out a bit? I have an ottb who has been retrained by myself, we started a few months ago. Lately, in the past month, she won’t go forward at all. I am now too scared to mount her as she kicks out when trying to mount and when I get on. She has the best personality, very loving and never does anything like this on the ground. I’ve tried getting on bareback and even without the bridle and she does the same. I’ve tried so many things, like take her out of the arena, make sure no other horses are around, get someone to lead her and had someone behind her moving stuff around to try and get her to go forward. I love her so much and I feel like all this time spent on her has just gone to waste.

I'm very sorry to hear about your story. It can be incredibly difficult to really truly understand what's going on with our horses sometimes. Horse's in pain try to show us that they are hurting, and it is our responsibility to listen to them. Horse's are prey animals and have evolved to hide any signs of pain, even when they are in a lot of discomfort. I think if you notice this change in your horse, it is important to call your veterinarian right away. It is better to err on the side of caution and have your horse checked out, even if you are not sure if they are in pain. Best of luck

@@SJBequanimity thank you. With the help of my aunt, we’ve found out what’s wrong with her. The saddle we were using for her doesn’t fit, so she now has a roach back(?), has tense muscles, ulcers and bad feet.
