@Kenhu38
@Kenhu38 20 күн бұрын
I'm not too sure. Other people have the same version siren as yours with no switches inside. We have different versions of this siren. It is possible that my siren could be an older generation of Touchmaster Delta. My rotary knobs look different from the current generation . It is also possible (but not likely) that my siren could have been modded by someone before selling on eBay however, all of the components look entirely stock from the factory. I bought mine from eBay long ago and the seller had multiple units for sale and I bought one and this is what I got.

Unfortunately this model does not have the Powercall siren tones. I checked the circuit board and found no evidence of Warble and Whoop siren chips/circuits anywhere. This is basically a Sho-Me siren model# 30-2100 but configured to have airhorn, Radio Rebroadcast, and PA functions only.

@Kenhu38
@Kenhu38 3 жыл бұрын
The DIP switches are located on the bottom circuit board directly behind the microphone jack and next to the metal bracket with screw hole. The DIP switches are packaged in a small red housing labeled with the words "ON" and "DIP" with each switch numbered 1 through 5. You will need either a toothpick or a small screw driver to flip these DIP switches as they are small and plastic. Hope this helps.

In the back of the siren unit, terminal #1 has the words "PANEL" and "LITES" labeled. Wire that terminal to a positive(+) source such as your headlight/dash lights switch of your vehicle. In my setup, I connected the panel lights to the "AUX1" button (terminals #1 and #4 wired together in the back).

@Kenhu38
@Kenhu38 4 жыл бұрын
Wire your speaker under the siren speaker section. Depending on your speaker rating, if you have either a 58 watt or a 100 watt speaker wire it accordingly. I would observe polarity. For a single 100 watt speaker: connect the negative(-) speaker wire to "COM" and the positive(+) wire to "100W". That's it.

Basically I was completing the circuit on the circuit board for each of the siren tones: Wail, Yelp, Phaser, and Intersection Mode. The Air Horn already has a red momentary button wired to it. For "Tap" mode, I left that alone since it involved the horn ring function which would require additional circuits to be completed. If I remember correctly, the Tap mode will cycle through all the sirens with each tap of your steering wheel's horn (if wired to it) or to a separate external button. Everything is labeled on the circuit board. So for the Wail and Yelp siren tones; the letters "W" and "Y" are labeled next to their respective metal contacts on the board. The Phaser siren and Air Horn are labeled "P" and "H" while the Intersection Mode is "I". There is "T" for Tap and "R" for Radio Rebroadcast. The positive contact "+" needs to complete a circuit with either "W", "Y", "R", or "T" to get each respective feature to operate. Normally an easy-to-use rotary switch would be wired to these functions ( as seen on the Sho-Me Full Feature Dash-Mount Siren Model 30.2100 ) but there is not, so I used a piece of wire to do the job. This would be a very short video if I did not showcase the other siren tones ( as seen in my Code 3 Air Horn/PA video ).

I'm a police officer and I love this siren box. However, as most departments, we have all LED lights. Many times, by mistake we leave our rear decks on because LEDs are silent. I know the Touchmaster (Not Delta) has a "tick-tock" tone for inside the squad to let the officer know he/she has lights activated. Do you know if the Delta has this capability and if so, how to engage it?
@Kenhu38
@Kenhu38 10 жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, the Touchmaster Delta is not equipped with this feature. I know, I like the audible "clicker" feature that the non-Delta models possess. If desired, a separate relay (Federal Signal FA3-SB wig-wag flasher which also makes the same clicking sound) can be added to the Touchmaster Delta's warning lights pursuit slide switch circuit, for its "clicker" sound when warning lights are in use. Maybe, I can make a video of this. Hope this helps...

Yes that is correct. This unit is intended for volunteer public safety professionals who are not permitted to use sirens. This is basically a Sho-Me Model# 30.2100 siren but with fewer buttons tailored for this specific application. Other major brands such as Federal Signal, Whelen, and Code 3 also have their own line of air horn/PA units.

@ steven keith Anyways, for your case, your siren is drawing too much power for your fuses to handle and so they blow. For example, if your fuses are rated at 15 amps then you must NOT exceed that amount for they will blow. It's just protection against overloading your electrical system - in which an overloaded system will overheat and may cause a fire. I hope this helps.
@Kenhu38
@Kenhu38 11 жыл бұрын
Well, what I would do is connect my siren directly to the battery and install an inline fuse to protect the siren. Use appropriate wire gauge when doing this, especially when you plan to control warning lights as well. You have to determine how many Amps of power this siren draws and then use an appropriate fuse to protect it. For example, if this siren draws 8 amps of power, I would use a 10 amp fuse to protect it; that is IF I don't plan to connect warning lights to this siren.
