With all the evil and bad things happening around the world, this composition and performance as directed by this wonderful maestro shows us that humans can be good and beautiful. When i had open heart surgery, i was under the most powerful anesthesia for about 8 hours, before being taken to ICU. I was on a heart lung machine as my heart was stopped. Only thing showing i was still alive was the bare beep of brain waves. I was as close to being as clinically dead as can be. All i experienced was black velvet. 10 minutes could have been 10 years. No pain. No anxiety. No stress. No remorse. Just blissful nothingness and deep black fog of sleep. No dreams no bright light. I believe that is what death will be like. So i want to be listening to this absoluteky gorgeous piece of music as i slip off to the land of nod.

Georges Prêtre un monument d’émotion, de lyrisme et de pureté. Au crépuscule de sa si riche carrière il arrive encore avec générosité et amour à insuffler vie, couleurs, sentiments et passion à cette œuvre qui m’a toujours tant fait pleurer. C’est inoubliable maestro. Un merci immense pour cela
