Please do your research and make sure the person or establishment has lasers that can work on blue inks. You also may see better results with older tattoos. Also if they don’t adjust according to your skin tone you may end up with scarring or hyperpigmentation issues. Ask lots of questions about the process and never assume it will only take one session even if it’s a small area.

From my experience, having laser sessions every 6-8 weeks for 2 years and costing me around 9 grand. I can say nothing is guaranteed, although I was guaranteed it would remove the tattoos. Had a black hand tattoo and black knuckle tattoos on both hands. The place I went to was super fancy and they would raise the settings of the machine higher each visit. The fingers took it better but still visible, along with ghosting and scarring in the same pattern of the tattoo. For a while I gave them the benefit of the doubt as sometimes after the blistering and dead skin fell off, the tattoo would seem darker all the way up to the next session. I know of the shady clinics that don't run full power to keep the client coming back for longer than needed but this wasn't one of those places. At the end of 2 years, I had a half-removed hand tattoo and 75% of my finger tattoos removed, but in place of the ink that was removed came the scarring and ghosting. I sat with that for a while as I considered my options going forward. At that point in the last few years, I just decided to do big cover ups and went down that route, blacking out the same arm hand and fingers that the removal was done on and more tattoos. I can say from too much experience, if your skin is fresh and want a tattoo, you had better take it very serious, cause if you're going into getting a tattoo with the mindset of "if I don't like it one day I'll have it lasered" that will probably come back and bite you in the ass. I still wanted all my other tattoos just nothing below the wrist. I'm way better off now, and with amount of ink saturation in my tattoos now, I doubt the best removal machines would do too much. The blackout has like 24oz of black ink alone, and with many passes. With the type of tattooing now days vs 15-20 years ago, anytime I get asked about someone removing a tattoo I just recommend them to get a good cover up 90% of the time, unless it's a faded 10-15+ year old tattoo then I'd say let the laser have at it.

You are painfully misinformed for a doctor. It has not been proven to cause thyroid carcinoma in humans, only in rats. It also doesn’t directly cause muscle mass loss, the weight loss, including any weight loss does that.

Tattoo removal is done one colour at a time due to the wavelength, so it will take many treatments for colour tattoos. Multiple treatments per colour. This video is very informative. Great for people to know.

Tattoo removal can cost up to about five times as much as getting the original tattoo. I recommend just not getting tattooed in the first place.

Hello Dr G, hope all is well. I want to thank you for this video...I wish I saw it a couple of months ago. That being said, I had 2 questions if you'd be so kind. 2 months ago I got a single needle tattoo on my neck of little black geometric shapes and I instantly had regret. I didn't think about how it would feel to wake up seeing that in the mirror everyday. I wasn't ready. I want this tattoo gone immediately, but the laser center I went to told me to wait a year to start removal; to let the ink settle in? I'm reading online that it is safe to start the removal process as long as the tattoo is fully healed, which it is. In your opinion, how long should I wait to start the removal process? Also, I'm a fair skinned guy; would the Q-switch 1064 be the best laser to use on my single needle black tattoo? Thanks very much Doc!
@DrUndoTattoo5 күн бұрын
There isa no need to wait a year to start removal anywhere from 1 to 3 months is just fine, as long as the skin is well healed and any redness or scab is gone. The Q 1064 will do fine for this neck tattoo. It will likely take 6-8 sessions no less than 6 weeks apart.

The failure to connect here is that he operates on the assumption that people are getting black out for shock value, and not for their own personal fulfillment. As far as the mental aspect people definitely will judge you especially old people but if we’re being honest, they’re probably judging you quietly, even if you don’t have tattoos

I’ve had 10 sessions on my neck of a black quote, I have pale skin, I’m using a Q switch and it’s still showing, should I change to a pico laser or keep going with the Q switch.
@DrUndoTattoo7 күн бұрын
10 sessions on pale skin that high up should respond and likely be gone or near gone by 7-8 sessions. It could be resistant ink, a weak laser or under treatment. I like q but it wouldn’t cause harm if you wanted to try a pico

Thank you for the informational video. How long would a specific area remain contaminated? An eagle nest that I follow just lost 2 chicks whose remains have now been sent for necropsy. While we won't know the cause of their deaths for a while, viewers are concerned that if they did die of avian flu, what is the probability of the adults contracting it from the nest? The adults have not returned to the nest since about 10 hrs. before the 2nd eaglet died during the evening of 1/27. So far, the adults appear ok.

This is a difficult question because different condition will change the viruses life expectancy. If on the skin it is only actove about 5 hours but if on soil in cold temperatures it can go 18days. Glass and metals will only allow for 24 hours or so but in colder wet conditions that time can be prolonged. A cold wet area outside can allow the virus to be active for several months because they have the ability to protect themselves.

I have 2 different machines. 1 is a Picosecond the other is a Nd Yag. I only treat myself. I did an experiment and set both machines to 500mj and did 2 patch tests. The Nd Yag produced a nice frosting effect over the treated area with little to no blisters. The area, over a period of 1 month, did show signs of obvious fading. However, the Picosecond showed different results. This laser caused big blisters. So much so, I had to drain them using a sterile pin. A month later there was no obvious sign that the area was treated. For both experiments, the same ink colour was treated, on the same location (ink: black) The picosecond didnt produce much of a frosting effect compared to the Nd Yag. In regards to healing time, the patch treated with the Nd Yag healed much faster then the patch treated with the Picosecond. I have no idea why this turned out the way it did. I was very disapointed with the Picosecond results. The blistering was a major issue. Im wondering if the Pico needs to be on a much lower setting compared to the NdYag?? Why was there no signs of fading compared to the Nd Yag (hmmm) Settings used for both machines: 1064nm - 500mj @ 4 hz

Thank youfor your video, i have a question. I had a 4 letter name tattooed in black in 2012, then in 2016 i had it covered up in black ink,the silly man tried to add white ink which i didnt ask for and the whole cover up got infected, was really bad, took about 8 weeks to heal. Im scared for removal incase i get a reaction with it getting infected before. Any advice? Im not scared of the laser pain, im scared about what the ink will do to my body, any advice would be helpful
@DrUndoTattoo25 күн бұрын
The infection was from bacteria introduced during the cover and should be all resolved by now. However the initial scar plus anything that may have scared during the infection will definitely add at least 2-3 sessions plus the cover adds to the overall ink load which normally adds 2 sessions. The white will either disappear, oxidize to a dark color or just sit there. It’s not an impossible situation but will take a lot of sessions, I would go slow at least 12 weeks in between and don’t rush.

blindness is one of my greatest fears... As an artist and just appreciator of beauty I can't imagine why anyone would risk the loss of eye sight. It is one of God's greatest gifts. I hate to be comedic but I am imagining all of the celebrities walking around blind in a few years... wouldn't that be ironic? a group of people so concerned with how they and others look, becoming blind?
