elfstarter It's Irish. Some dances found in Irish communities didn't get approval by the early 20thC Gaelic League because they seemed "not Irish". In this case, perhaps there is a Scottish or "Highland" feel to it? Lovely performance, ladies.

Never heard it played on the balalaika. Sounds great. The dancing is very relaxed, as against the classical Irish style, which is more strictly performed. Lovely.

Thank you so much! We are based in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, which is definitely not authentic for sean-nos dancing. But we love it, and I also teach it online, but not sure if it would be convenient to work with Australia... I guess there are some pre-recorded lessons from English-speaking dance teachers, I can even ask some of them. Do you do any other kind of percussive dance?

It wouldnt have been easy to put this production together. I most appreciate the colour and I loved how the dancers danced in a circular fashion. Great choreography. The jig is simple and accessible and with it you have created art. And hopefully had a good time together doing so.

The legend of SAMHAIN : once upon a time the world was filled with demons and evil spirits of all kinds - the druids fought these creatures into submission and banished them to another dimension - But there was one catch : they wanted to be remembered - once per year , on the anniversary of this treaty , people were to dress themselves up as these evil beings to show that they still remember them - and , if it ever comes to pass that this anniversary should ever pass without a single person in the entire world doing so , then that would be a breach of contract and these demons and evil spirits would be free to come back and take over the world ! This pact and agreement was settled on October 31st , and is now known as , Halloween ! And now you know The Rest Of The Story !
