Y’all, this song was never a duet between Asha and StarBoy. It was always a Magnifico and Asha song. It just sounds like a love song because that’s what the writer wanted it to sound like so people could use it for other things. Even if Disney had done StarBoy, you wouldn’t have gotten this. So stop whining and go enjoy something you actually like instead of pondering on what could’ve been, or what would’ve never been. -.-

As much as I love this pairing, it actually occurred to me that this relationship would end in tragedy on Starboys part. Asha’s mortal, she’d grow old and die eventually while he’d live on. Unless he’d think to take her to neverland or somewhere she wouldn’t age, idk if she’d be on board with the idea of leaving her home tho

@@extrimanil To be fair, I heard (again, I heard, I'm not sure if it's true) that the woman responsible for directing this movie would not accept any ideas from the workers and even fired those who didn't agree with her, so I'm pretty sure it was mainly her fault and not the workers, who didn't have a choice.

Disney has been avoiding romance with main heroines since Tangled so I dont but it was entirely the director's fault and more so they wanted to play it safe. Also this is just me but seeing modern Disney maybe she had her points lol

NGL this song reminded me a lot of If I Never Knew You from Pocahontas, another love song that got cut for the absolute dumbest reasons. And its a shame considering how beautiful yet sad it is
