I'm having same issue. I'm told the duct I'm using which is similar to stuff for tumble dryer. Is No good as one the steam goes into it the cold air from attic turns it to water and this cause water to build up. I'm told to replace it with insulated duct. Good luck
@TechmeistersLtd21 күн бұрын
@@marcuskavanagh6874 that is indeed correct! You can use that flexi but it’s got to be put in really well, and only if the situation allows you to. All the best, Kev Www.techmeisters.co.uk

This is the sort of issue I have, long run, vents to a vented roof tile, condensates on the way up resulting in water coming back through the vent...... Thanks for the video 👍
@TechmeistersLtd21 күн бұрын
@@keendnb I don’t know what set up you have but if you intend on using the same roof tile vent you’re going to have to put a condensate trap in and have a constant fall from tile vent to trap. All the best!! Kev

@TechmeistersLtd all sorted, I put the trap in yesterday and run the 22mm pipe out to the eves, seems to have solved the issue 👌

Sort of money would this type of install cost thanks

@mrpeterps3 hi Peter, this particular installation was quite a complex one for a number of reasons, and ended up being in the region of 1200. A lot of fresh installs tend to hover around the 750 region. Best, kev

Yep not only that the ducting itself isnt insulated so the hot steam enters the cold loft and instantly condensates within the flex... the idea is to keep the ducting insulated all the way to outside and that way more steam will exit the building...

You can get away with it if you gain the height early and roll it out but there was no way with this one. The vent was a good foot off the floor and I had about 3m to get to it!! Oops. Why the vent wasn't slammed down to the floor height I do not know!

Hi Jay, yes you will likely need a 12-24VAC or 12-24VDC transformer. I’d recommend consulting an electrician or ring doorbell installer for the exact specifics, each and every property will have its own nuances. All the best, Kev

is there a product you can replace the interior chime with to drive a ring doorbell with enough power that it can function without constantly needing charging?

Great vid. If i wanted to get an immersion heater timer switch from screwfix/amazon and attach this where i used to have a burnt out fused spur switch, is there anything i need to consider when choosing?
@TechmeistersLtd9 ай бұрын
Hi mate. Please ensure the circuit is indeed protected by a 16A breaker at the board for a timer controller. I couldn't possibly give official advice without taking the job on but I'd certainly be searching for "immersion timer" on screwfix and I'd likely go with one with a red round circle. They're easy enough to set up. Please ensure you use the cord grip and clamp onto the sheath, not just the single cables inside. tug test the terminals make sure they don't pull out. And whilst you're there, check the other end at the immersion side, they like burning too. And don't forget to isolate. Be safe, all the best, Kev
