I had an open double inguinal hernia worst pain I’ve ever experienced, nerves were damaged and had extreme burning pain for the first year, after four years lower abdomen is still numb! Had no pain before just a lump on either side, never would I get this done unless it’s an absolute necessity!!🥴

what a bunch of baloney. 40% of the patients who had their gallbladder removed end up with Post-cholecystectomy syndrome (PCS). Some have too much bile released and end up with diarrhea, others have blockages and live in excruciating paint, etc. Diminishing the post-surgery side effects and claiming the "majority" could eat anything without any problems is such a shameful disinformation that leads to life altering and many times life-endangering consequences, such as pancreatitis, fatty liver, gallstones in the bile duct, etc. Low fat diet is the recommended route to prevent most of these consequences, but even that is not guaranteed. Supplements certainly help. Don't mean to diminish your expertise, but it's BS. My surgeon and my primary doctor, plus several ER doctors contradicted everything you said.

All hospitals and physicians should have the same protocols specifications as is the international European way of medicine only here in the United States of America do they allow this type of protocols to be different per hospital per physician for whatever. Just like oh it sucks chemicals in our water our food the plastic the retardants this s*** doesn't happen in European countries only here in America what a disgrace time to step up to the plane everybody involved in that surgery is guilty of negligence shouldn't practice medicine or anything on another human being.

Is there any possibility or method whereby I can consider for this operation. My hernia size is 5_6cm.im from Papua New Guinea. I

I think a huge part of why something like this is even allowed to happen is because of the role hollywood has played in portraying concussions and KO's as injuries no more serious than bonking your shin on a coffee table. In any action movie, the hero will get knocked out via a blow to the head so the bad guy can get the drop on him, and when he wakes up he's no worse for wear. The general public doesn't understand that being knocked unconscious even ONCE means you have received brain damage that can cause serious, life lasting neurological complications. When I was a teenager, I had the flu and fainted from a fever spike/Blood pressure drop while standing, and fell all the way backwards and hit my head on a tile floor. Wouldn't you know it, just a year or two later I started having seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. PROTECT YOUR HEAD.

I'm not sure I would approach a 30 x 22 cm spleen laparoscopically (especially at 6:00 pm) and question the indication for surgery. With the adrenal case and now this, doesn't sound like he has spent much time in the LUQ.

As someone who NOW has chronic acute DEBILITATING pain from an indirect inogrial hernia. *I have 2 bits of advice for anyone willing to listen* ... 1. BOOK IN A PAIN SPECIALIST FOR 6 WEEKS POST SURGERY! A good one you are waiting months to see. So sort out that backup / cross-check prior to surgery. NEVER BE AFRAID TO GET A 2ND OPINION, Surgeons are like scared children when something goes wrong, they are SO AFRAID of being sued they often unintentionally make things worse if something is wrong, they often stick together or wont treat you if another surgeon has already done work there (remember they aren't trained on pain, only cutting!) - and if their injury insurance goes up it can be devastating to them as a business. (Infact there's just as many videos online teaching them how to avoid ownership of mistakes and litigation - crazy but true! Search for it you'll be shocked) 2. The error rares ARE HIGHER than they will tell you 3% is really more like 20% with 3% being the worst outcome). And due to this NEVER be afraid to ask for a 2nd opinion post surgery - a pain specialist will be able to identify where the pain is coming from far better than a surgeon. I learnt surgeons stick together and avoid telling you reality (my original surgeon tried to blame my pain on something else, until I demanded scans and to see the reports myself, and he was wrong - his surgery caused the nerve multiple entrapments - it delayed my pain treatment by half a year! Just accepting his version. If something doesn't feel right after 4-6 weeks have these 2 things in place. It could save you months and months of acute pain and at least get a road map in place to fixing pain issues. I hope this helps someone. For me there's no blame on anyone about my outcome, statistically someone has to get a bad result eventually. But this 3% is BS, 20% of SOME SORT of complication is far more accurate, but this shouldn't put you off a surgery, hernias can't self repair so you just need to go into it understanding the risk and that it's part of life. Best of luck and health to everyone having to go for any operation 🙏❣️ I hope the 2 tips help someone in need !

Enzymes have been very beneficial for me. My life was misery after gallbladder surgery, and had to switch to a vegetarian diet and take digestive enzymes to feel normal. A lot of people I know who had their gallbladder out have a lot of issues for years and think they have to live that way. Diet changes for those who have problems and enzymes are game changer.

Gallbladder surgery changed my life for the worst. Had surgery in April 2023 and my stomach is a mess. Everything destroys my stomach and I have the runs 90% of the time. It has caused high anxiety and depression. Once a world traveler I’m terrified to go anywhere or even out to dinner with more than a 10 min ride home. When it comes it’s quick and I have no control. This surgery sucks

When you say it is a 2 kg. Liver ? I understand a lot as a 40 year R.N. They removed it? Why does the surgery go on I see the aneurysm the bleeding I understand but why did it go on to the liver different side of the body . ? Forgive me but the liver is a different organ and portal system is very apparent Did the surgeon become overwhelmed?

I had to have my gallblader removed last year. From that point on because they placed a catheter into my blader, i have a very difficult time holding my urine. Now these same people want me to come back for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. I think not. I honestly feel like dropping my insurance as i will never go back
