I think Mont Blanc is deadliest, ’cause huge amount of summitters (without experience of mountaineering). In percents of summits, eight thousanders Annapurna and K2 leads (almost every third or fourth dies).

He keeps using the word "pole" in reference to people/climbers. Is this a climbing term I am unaware of or is he mispronouncing a different word?

My African continent experience was climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro at 55 yoa. I researched guides and chose one that had a high success rate (Thomson Safaris) AND they did everything right-followed all your suggestions. They provided one porter and I hired a personal porter. It was a wonderful experience.

Little known fact: The Matterhorn straddles the border between Switzerland and Italy (where it is known as Il Cervino), both countries sharing the summit at the border. The most often photographed view of the mountain, however, is taken from the Swiss side which likely contributes to the disparity in public perception.

I respectfully urge you to not use AI narration because of the grammar and pacing issues. Many of us will simply just click away or watch on mute.

The Matterhorn itself is very intriguing and enticing to people, mainly because of how mysterious it is not knowing if they’ll make it to the top, or even make it back alive. Unfortunately, the reason so many people are dying is because of ignorance. It’s because the rocks in the mountains are deteriorating. The boulders, get loose, which way make the people fall to their death. The lesson learned here folks is stay off the Matterhorn if you value your life you will live longer!

Video spoiled by climate change comment crap... The Earth has been much hotter at many times and all were before mankind.. At present the Earth is currently quite cold in geological history... There are not enough accurate data records or a long enough sample period to have any proper analysis of what is, or is not happening.. Climate change is generally natural and not man made.. Mostly occurring through solar and volcanic/geophysical activity... It has been happening since the creation of our planet.. Remember that at many times in history there was no ice at the poles and life on Earth was teeming at this time ... Finally the Matterhorn is weak rotten rock that falls easily... Do not think that somehow ice is holding the rock together and that a 1 or 2 degree difference will change things.. Rock falls are a risk on very steep rock cliffs.. Before the matterhorn ascent was taken as a serious challenge and now it is seen a a a hard day out.. People believe modern equipment makes them invincible..

If you hear here the statements that the climbers were recovered dead, it is probably not what you imagine. After falling from such heights, perhaps only the parts of their bodies could be found. So, when the first climbers in 1865 fell down, from one of them only an arm could be found.

I climbed it up the hornli ridge in 1996 with two guys who had married local girls, we then skied down the hornli ridge and on Down to town. Spring snow we had to calculate the exact melting time. Two weeks earlier we had tried and I lost an edge on the ice, we were too early. I took a slide almost to death but I managed to find a bit of softer snow lower down and saved the day. Hello to Bernie and Kurt your old now. I am but now I’m surfing and only ski some easier stuff when I feel like it. Those days are gone, my kids are now doctors and life is beautiful. Love to all who knew me in zermat

Put an ice cube on a table outside in the winter. I didn't melt. I put an ice cube on a table in the summer. It melted. Therefore, humans are causing climate change!
